What if it said.

and then a list of characters, by level, who already have the name! last log-in would be cool, too, but maybe tmi
it'd be awesome to know you're perfectly in the clear when you discover Indestructible has been used by twelve dudes, none of which got over level 5 and haven't logged in in months.
Nuts, I only ever get into RTS betas for some reason.
I didn't get in either. I get into all sorts of FPS betas though.
It was funny though, I had just checked my mail earlier and cleared out the new entries so when folks here started saying that they had gotten emails I went and checked mine out. "Hey new message! Hey... I'll be getting my next NetFlix movie tomorrow. Great."

No kidding. It's weird, but back when I was a kid and wasn't technically eligible for them I got in all the time, now that I fulfill all legal requirements, I have yet to get into a single beta for a game that didn't send out invites to everyone that registers. *sigh* I just want to help it be worth my monies, why must they spurn us so?

We were in on Guild Beta for WAR, so that has to count for something. I also did beta for WoW, TR, Hellgate: London, and LotRO. My beta luck isn't bad, I just don't get in until the tail end. Which is a shame because I find typos all over the place and a lot of them don't get fixed by release. The High Elf staring area in WAR was full of typos, and I submitted reports on a lot of them.

I'd like to submit a report about a typo in this post.
Only 3gb? Either there are a lot of art assets that haven't been included yet or they found a really nice way to get the size down because that's pretty small.
Well its also possible that this is not the only file. The exact size is 3066MB. After I finish this preliminary 3gb file I'll mention if there are any other files I had to download afterward.

Ya, but that was with a community of you guys. And when did we actually get in? Was that...a year after we got selected? Ya, a friggin year. And I agree, developers usually don't have the best literary skills in the world. Being a proofreader is really all we can do very late in the beta (hopefully).

Haha, damnit. I was talking more about misspellings and unintentional spacing. I know my grammar could use some work.

So I was just reading on their beta forums. Right now they are doing focus testing on specific days. If I understand it correctly, the beta servers are currently only available on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am PDT to 9pm PDT.
That means we won't actually be able to hop online for PA guild fun until tomorrow morning. (Or afternoon for the Eastern and Central folks).

For those of you just starting out, don't use a custom framework yet. It's not 100% yet. It doesn't do anything for you besides allowing you to pick your first two starting attacks. Other than that picking a regular starting framework is mostly identical.

So was I.
Huh? What did I misspell / misuse? I'm tired enough where I could be missing some glaring errors, but I don't see it. (I mean, starting the sentence with "Which is a shame" and ending the sentence before it the way I did is pretty bad, but nothing else pops out at me. I also use commas way to much but that comes back to my grammar comment.)
EDIT: Darn it all, now you've got me editing my posts for readability and shit.
I wouldn't think the testing schedule is part of the NDA, since it has nothing at all to do with the actual game itself. However, I can easily edit my above post if that info needs to be kept behind closed doors.

I'd like to see the OP updated with some information on contact info for guild invites etc.
Also, is there still an NDA?
Unless your invite says Open Beta then its still under the NDA.
Yes
i will have to be silent up in this thread

Not true, WoW's NDA dropped long before the open beta.
Egads! I am blind.
Ah, so that's why I don't remember NDAs being a big deal when I was in WoW beta.
No kidding.
In fact, I think as soon as it went from Friends and Family Alpha to the Closed Beta, the NDA was dropped.
This is a rare event that must be savored.
EDIT: What sort of mixture of technology and voodoo is Cryptic using to get download the game so fast?
The reported size and the actual file size are not the same.
