I'm 32, single, and work in IT, yes I do the whole Lonely Hearts thing.

Screeeeeeeeeeeeew you guys and your betas. I honestly wouldn't mind if it was just a character creator at this point, I'm jonesing for a better CoX. One with 3d costume parts, more than two bad guys, and relatively free (at the moment) of ERPers.
You're going to love the costume creator in this. Especially if you like monsters and power armored characters.

From what I've heard you're in for a shock on that last one.
I'm not familiar with the term "ERPer" but I can guess the RPer part. And I'm not quite sure why you would wan an online roleplaying game to be free of roleplayers.

I hope you run into some FERPers, then. I mean, how bad can the FE part be?

Power armor and robots are the most favorite of things to me.
If this isn't under NDA, how are the animations? Is combat responsiveness good? When you hit something, is the hit feedback clear?

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
Man, stupid NDA is stupid. I wish to hold intelligent conversation about this game here, but sadly we cannot. I find the official forums to be full of fanboys and know-it-alls and it doesn't make for very satisfying discussion.
The game is massively instanced. You know how in CoX if there are a lot of people in the zone it'll open up "Atlas Park 2" or whatever? Well Champions does that after about 30 people.
Curious.
On the one hand, I could be snarky and point at the "massively". On the other hand, this is a game about superheroes and you rarely see a ton of heroes all over the place unless it's some major comic event. If each zone if about the size of the Paragon's, then you'd feel more like a normal superhero as opposed to what we have now where heroes probably outnumber crooks.
I guess I'll see how it works out.
I bet they just have the number jacked down real low so they can test the system without needing a massive group of beta testers.

I think in CoH Beta they had the threshold for multiple zones much lower than it is now on Live, so thats possible.
The only time having tons of people available has affected my gameplay in an MMO is
1. When there's a shit ton of people in a town, and it slows down my game
2. Massive world PvP.
The first I would not mind at all missing out on, and there's no PvP like that in Champions ATM so it doesn't matter for that.
Though, as an aside, I wonder what they would call a "City of Villians" type expansion for Champions. (Dark Champions is more about Anti-Heroes)
I don't like it because it restricts the possibilities available and as such the experience suffers from it.
If I know that there will never be more than 30 guys in my immediate area, I probably wont be enjoying myself. It compromises the "massively multiplayer" part of the game too much for me.

Man, why does this thing look so jaggy? I poked briefly in the video options on my lunch break, but couldn't really find anything to fix it. Guess I'll wait till I have more time on Friday to play around.
Try forcing it through your control panel. I made a female Kung Fu chick a minute ago. Everything was cool until I blocked and saw how weird he back and neck look. It forms an S and neck is super long. So I'll have to trash her and see if I can fix it.
The female clothing options should be banned. I mean ddaaammnn.
So I got in today, and I have to say so far its pretty good. Sadly you can't just pick any two starting powers (for now, there putting it back in when power sets are finalized) But I had fun running around with the Power Armor ability's. I even plugged in my Xbox controller to see how well that worked. Controlling the character was easy, but the menus didn't work right. But I could imagine running around and playing with the controller more then the mouse and keyboard.
I didn't make it to M.City though, as a friend of mine came over and wanted to check it out while I had time to play. The quest in the desert where you have to activate the turrets was extremely frustrating. The mobs seemed to spawn faster then you could kill them in some case. Hopefully the next play time is some time soon.

Anyone? Bueller? Hmm...I guess it is covered under NDA.

I've got my guy to 8, and i'm stuck at the vault. This is safe, because I could be talking about Fallout 3. I'd have probably gotten past it if not for a friend who came over and wanted to explore "the wasteland". Also, from my first alts experience, there's a guy in the Canada section that says something about creating supergroups.
I can imagine you want to talk about more specific subjects ever now and again. Especially those of you who still respect the agreement they signed but would like to coordinate efforts with their fellow PAers.
That's what the PA channel is for. Most of the things you've seen here have already been reported by places like Massively. IF it isn't your account that's being played on why bother telling people to move somewhere else? Is someone on here going to report us next?
Also have you actually been on their forums? I would rather not talk than go there to say that the character creator is awesome or that there's a kung fu powerset.

The E stands for
EROTIC!
I do hope it doesn't do that at release.

the fewer retards around me, the better
No Anti-Aliasing, that's why.

First thing I tried.
