The idea of Magic-K is amusing if just because I don't think it's ever been done before. If you think about it, that's pretty surprising given that magic is Supes' only other weakness besides K, so it makes sense to combine them (if you're interested in the spectrum of K).
However, I have to admit, I don't like the portrayal of Supes' behavior here: it's the sort of stereotypical conception of being "high" that is written only by people who actually have no first-hand knowledge of even their friends while high. I'm sorry, but despite not doing any myself, I've NEVER seen any friend who smoked pot and then got violent. Period. Let's be honest, this is clearly them riffing on pot, not coke or crack or anything, and so it strikes me as pointless pandering to have Supes through a control through a screen.
DC is really hurting in the art department in general right now.
Countdown has proven as much.
On the bright side, isn't Bagely going to be doing some DC work? He's consistent and while not my favorite artist (although he is good), he is definitely a lot better then some of the people they've had drawing their books lately.

What sucks is that DC's subdivision Wildstorm, who can't seem to put out a book on time or sustain healthy sales, is flush with talent. Doug Mahnke, Chris Sprouse, Neil Googe, Talent Caldwell, and so on. Granted Mahnke did do the recent Black Adam mini, but goddammit I want him back on JLA.
OK so I have no desire to read Trinity.
Which is cool with me, I was afraid it was going to be a Final Crisis tie-in and I was going to be stuck buying it.
C'mon, what completely original JLA stories could a hack like McDuffie, writer of numerous awesome stories on Justice League Unlimited, possibly have to tell? Hell, he's lucky they're making him write tie-ins to Tangent. And Salvation Run. And Green Arrow/Black Canary's wedding. And Final Crisis. And probably Trinity. And maybe Tiny Titans: Crisis of the Infinite Bathtimes.

He's doing the Trinity weekly with Busiek.
Wait
Another weekly?
When does it start?
you have to be joking
I hadn't heard of something by a publisher I just started reading.
Holy shit.
I won't get comics until Sunday, so tell me this - does Sentry do ineffective nonsense off-panel again for this fight?
From what I heard, he gets involved in the Doom/IM fight when Doom breaks out his magic. However, he ends up sending all three of them tumbling through Doom's Time Platform, landing in what looks like a pop-art 60's version of NY.

Sentry lifts a big statue and hits a few Doombots in the string of doulbe page splash pages. After that, we don't see him until Doom busts out some magic on Tony. At that point, they both get knocked through the floor to the malfunctioning time machine. At the last second, Sentry grabs Tony's hadn and goes back in time with them. We don't see him in the couple panels of the book set in the past.
So yes, ineffectual nonfactor would probably about cover Sentry's role.
Tony is getting owned once Doom busts out the magic, Sentry is the one that steps in and saves him
This is the only thing he does. Previous page is Ms Marvel telling him to help. So he flies at Doom and then punches the floor. That's doing absolutely nothing if you ask me. He didn't fight Doom, he didnt even send him flying or injure him. He ran into him and then punched the floor. Nothing else after that. Sentry can fly and just floats down while he lets Tony fall.
Yeah and before he flies in and punches Doom, Doom is about to crush Tony with his magic, which Tony has no answer for, unlike Doom's technology.
Did you not notice that Iron Man is slowly overpowering Doom until he basically says "fuck it" and unleashes the mojo and completley turns the tide of battle?
Doom is an exceptionally powerful wizard ontop of his technological genius, and he's likely even more powerful now that he's been visiting LeFay than he was before. Sentry was probably the only one who could have stood up to his magical assault.

I think Doom might save the Earth from the Skrulls. Possibly Doom and Namor.

As good as Iron Fist was, the other Iron gets my best book and moment for this week. Ya, Iron Man vs Mandarin was the definition of epic.
Uh, not really. But IM #26 was awesome.
I have to change my MotW, because the first thing I read was Iron Fist. I couldn't imagine it being topped.
Matt Fraction fucking topped it in The Order #8.
God, where to start. The two heroes having supra-physical sex? Nah.
The reveal of who the MAN from SHADOW is? Nah.
The utterly ruthless baddassitude of Anthem? Nah.
The fact that this book sets up the overarching conflict for, and is in effect a maxi prologue for, Fraction's Invincible Iron Man? Hm...
FUCK YEAH!

Anyone read the new Jenna Jamison "another comic book by a (pseudo) celebrity who probably didn't have anything to do with it other than some upfront cash" comic? I think it's called shadow rider.
I was going to just pass it by, but ever since ultimate FF I have a hard time turning down Greg Land artwork.
Fraction decided that under all of the circumstances, and given his apparent reluctance to see other people play with his toys, he made The Order in mind to lead into IIM.

You know, Doom's been linked with Namor, Loki, Morgan LeFay and the Red Skull in recent months. Anyone else think that Marvel's gearing up to create an evil version of the Illuminati.

All that aside, I love Bats there.

Yeah some of the art in it looked really bad, and I just don't know about the whole flash kids thing
After Final Crisis, I think? I don't remember.

The art is pretty though.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)

on the plus side of art, I hope Nicola Scott never leaves Birds of Prey because she's perfect

On another plus side, I really dig Chris Batista on Robin.
Simply for the fact that he doesn't draw Tim too young, but not too old either.
It's in that place called "late teens"

And I did like the fact that
Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar
Man if The Order is in Invincible Iron Man then I might have to start reading it.
Wait what am I saying. If The Order is being canceled, then that leaves a void that Invincible Iron Man can fill. Boffo!
