Hey so I went with a SS/EL Brute IS that a good brute combo or is there a more standard build? I would like to know before I really try leveling this guy :P

That'll work fine I'm sure. Unless you had said you rolled a stalker or something I'd say just play what looks fun to you.

It's not something I've read extensively on, but the brute forum was having a "fastest farmer" contest a while back, and the SS/ElA was smoking everyone else. No Tough/Weave or Aid Self, either.
But this was just before the Rage nerf, so who knows, now. It's something worth looking into, anyway.
Brutes are really, really hard to go wrong with, though. Plan on picking up Stamina at 20, take your attacks, don't be the douchebag with Handclap, and learn to love the hell out of Footstomp. There you go: successful SS brute.
You could roll a Shit Melee/Poop Armour Brute and still get pretty far I'd wager.
Actually, I was thinking of making one. Now that my Dom is built up I don't really have any place to dump my influence.
EDIT - I think SS/Fire is still the benchmark farming build. With the AoE immob that brutes get the usual chain ends up Foot Stomp -> Burn -> Immob -> KO Blow any bosses -> Foot Stomp/Ball Lightning. If anything survives that...then I dunno.
Y'know, I just intended the Shit Melee/Poop Armour thing as a joke, but I just realised everyone has assumed I meant Stone Melee/Stone Armour. That's tragically accurate though.

Don't worry about build so much - that's one of the things that's good about this game over, say WOW. There's much more diversity, both in build and, of course, character appearance. That's why you can increase the difficulty of your missions if you discover you kick too much arse.
I've had a fair few alts, and the only one I've noticed under-performing is my Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper. He's level 21 and I love him but it's such a pain trying to fight with him.
I have the same problem on my MA/WP scrapper. He's fun in groups, but struggles through missions solo on heroic.
Also, when people trade Inf for infamy, is it a straight trade generally, IE: 10mil inf for 10mil infa? Just curious, cause I'd like to try and trade some Infl for infamy soon. not alot, just something to help my one and only villain out.

You can't trade money between heroes and villains.
If you do trade, do it with someone you know/trust. Because like Gear said, there's no official trading mechanism, so the transaction will be off-the-books and totally on the honor system. I mean, this isn't EVE, where screwing over other people is part of the game, but there's nothing stopping a stranger from walking away with your money, either.

In fact, I'd even watch out trading with PA people. We've got a few people here who seem to think it's cool to rip off people who are trying to transfer.

It also means making a decision can be fucking aggravating, especially when I can never get a consistent answer about a power or powerset.
Hot damn, I'll have six extra slots when i12 hits!
Now I wish I hadn't deleted my lvl 17 Blaster in preparation for VEATs. Oh well, his name was dumb anyway.
I think I'll have five. I think its pretty fucking awesome that they're giving us for free some stuff that we would have to pay for otherwise. Of course, I've long thought that adding stuff like this (and maybe free transfers and renames) to Vet Rewards would have been a good idea.

Build thread in here is probably the best place to ask.

Yeah that's what I meant. I saw a couple of people in the PA channels trading inf for infamy, and was hoping I could do that too sometime, with a small amount like 6 to 10 million inf, and get some infamy. I was just wondering if people adjusted the amounts, because of the difference in pricing on the WW and BM.

There's a huge difference between the value of things on the BM vs. the WW, so, I have no idea what the trade ratio would be.
For example, Halloween salvage has skyrocketed in price villainside since they let it be known that the first costume slot the VEATs have must be an Arachnos uniform and you don't get a costume slot you can fully customize until level 10.

I can't imagine why there are people who A) can't wait until level 10 for a costume or want to make a VEAT but don't want to look like Arachnos guys
well, about a year and a half ago I was playing coh with the PA people, and I got sucked into eve with the PA people. I guess that was back when COH had its own forum. I said I was going to come back, and I am.
I'll be ingame sometime tonight/tomarrow. 1.9 gigs of data to download is serious hurf blurf.

Give names so we can ostracize them!
There aren't any, or at least any that will rip off other PAers. "A few people" in this case refers to Pony, who admitted to sniping obvious inf-transfers on the auction house, and possibly a couple of other people who backed him up on it. Hell, I do the same thing if I find 'em.
But sniping the WW for some schmuck trying to transfer Inf the stupid way? Yeah, I've done that, and I think s3rial's being a big vag for whining about it.
Is his fiance named Donkey? Because that would be grand.
Funny story, to me at least: I was a camp councilor for a month down in the Shawnee National Forest. The majority of the time I worked in the stables. There were 56 horses and one donkey. One old, old donkey. But let me tell you he was a PIMP. Horses have clicks and friendships just like high school and this old donkey, who's name I can't remember, was friends with everyone. The main group he hung out with would have been considered the jocks and cheerleaders though. It was hilarious to see him walking around, followed by all these big horses, like he was the Fonz.
And transferring inf via market is so risky you probably have better odds of losing the money than not. If someone tries it they either understand the risk or they deserve to lose it under the "People Stupider Than Me Should Give Me Their Money For Their Own Good" rule.
But sniping the WW for some schmuck trying to transfer Inf the stupid way? Yeah, I've done that, and I think s3rial's being a big vag for whining about it.
Whining? I was warning. Or was I supposed to interpret that your lame justification for ripping off that other guy was so supremely reasonable and evocative of trust and loyalty that you'd never rip off some fellow PAer?
I don't know why this is such a hard thing for you to comprehend: you did a mean thing to some random guy with utterly no provocation, and then immediately fall back to the same "defense" that every spawn-camper and team killer has ever used, and then brag about it.
And now you're pissy that I've warned someone about it? Jesus, man, do you have any decency at all?
Let us also remember that that is not what I meant about being careful about inf transfers. The market is NOT a good way to do inf transfers between servers or characters (even though it's the only way to do it that doesn't involve two people or two accounts). So if you try it you'd better be damn sure you've maximized your chances of it succeeding and have accepted the chance of failure. You are using the market in a way it is not intended and there are no guarantees.
As far as I know, there's never been a problem with asking a PA person to help you trade influence. Either between characters, or between sides. But just because someone is in the PA channel doesn't automatically make them trustworthy. Trade with someone you "know" and trust. But there are still no guarantees because there's no way to prove how the trade really went down. If there ever is a case where someone feels they've been ripped off, it should be taken to a SG officer (who are also all global channel operators).
Also, eWom, about influence/infamy values. I did a semi-large one with Ein recently that was 1:1, and that seemed fair to both of us. It comes down to what the two people trading have and need, so the overall economics are irrelevant if the two traders are happy. FWIW, I can't think of any good, objective way to set a value other than 1:1.
