Hey guys, I didnt want to derail the other gaming rig thread off onto my topic, and I would like a reply asap(limited stock) so waiting for the thread in moes might take a little too long.
I am looking into getting a new desktop as well. I am able to spend a fair chunk of change, and have most of it figured out, but am curious about a few options.
CPU: q6600
mobo: asus p5b deluxe
gpu: radeon hd 3870 x2 (I know it is a little pricey but it seems pretty cool for the $) - there are only a couple of these left at memory express and so I want to grab one if I can as soon as possible. If they are out, any alternatives you would reccomend?
is there is big difference if i get 8500 ddr, as opposed to 6500 ddr? it is a difference of a hundred bucks or so, and if it wont make a big difference I would like to keep it down (ironic i know considering what else I am putting in)
any thoughts? Am i shooting a little too high?
edit: oh yea- i plan n dual booting with ubuntu but just looking for basic functionality. Is there gonna be an issue with an ati card or is that all resolved?
