Themepark Related Question.

Hey all,

I've got this assignment to do as part of my management assignment module and it asks us to outline the budgets for a theme park that our hypothetical friend wants to set up. These budgets include the running of the park but we're also asked for various other costs such as construction.

I've found various websites that construct rides and we've come to the conclusion that you'd outsource most of the work in a project like this.

What I really want to know is where can I find information relating to the cost of construction.

Any and all help welcome.

    http://www.cedarfair.com/

Cedar Fair is a company that pretty exclusively builds and manages amusement parks, including the pretty much undisputed champion of rollercoaster parks in the US: Cedar Point.

You might be able to pull some of the information off their site, otherwise, I'd suggest calling/emailing and seeing if they can't hook you up with some general figures. I'm sure they won't go into huge details about their personal finances, but I'd guess they can give you estimates for the costs of certain types of rides.

Intamin Coasters may help some too.

Don't know how much info they'll give out, but I've seen many of their rides mentioned on screamscape.com

The Roller coaster database (http://www.rcdb.com/) has costs for *some* coasters (and I don't really know how accurate they are), but it could help give you a general idea...

plus it's just fun to poke around..
