The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I started a new job this week and because our company has a military contract, camera phones are not allowed on the premises.
Because my wife and I both work and go to school, we don't have a land line, we both use our cells.
We have about a year and a half left on our contract with Sprint and we're pretty happy with the service, so I don't want to switch carriers.
I'd like email/bluetooth and all the fun stuff, minus the camera.
Do you guys have any suggestions for a good cell without a camera?
Right now I'm looking at maybe a Treo 650 without a camera, although I've never had a smart phone, it looks featured enough. I'm also guessing it is a bit larger than my Razr.
I am in the same situation and sprint does have several phones that do not have cameras. One thing to be aware of is that you may want to check on wether you can have bluetooth or other services on the phone. If they restrict cameras, most likely they restrict other features common to new phones also. I found out the hard way after I bought a new phone that had bluetooth, but no camera. I actually set off an alarm, and guys with guns showed up. So now I basically have the dumbest cell phone in the world. Must of the guys here just dont carry them since the building is hardened and you get no reception anyways.
You could also leave your phone in your car while you work. I know it's not nearly as convenient, but it's getting pretty difficult to find a phone that fits the military requirements for working in a classified area. I know my classified area makes sure our phones don't have bluetooth or a camera on them (sometimes even the USB port is bad).
