I've found the population just high enough to get stuff done, but just low enough that i don't feel overcrowded. There's lots to do and plenty of opportunities to do it.

I'm well into 24, but I've taken my time doing it. I spent an enitre day helping a friend catch up, plus I've done loads of crafting and exploring. I've got a very slick weapon waiting for me in 3 levels, I've got all my heavy armor, and I'm generally happy with the way things are going. The Captain is a very fun class. Once I got the Shieldbrother ability, I knew I was in til endgame.

Soo.... does anyone who bought Moria want to throw a 14 day trial code my way by PM? I've been looking to check out the game and Portland being a sheet of ice is a pretty good excuse. If anyone wants to reroll today, I'd love to be shown the ropes.

Yeah I was off do to weather, and playing a lot. Hit level 60 on my burg got finished with all the book chapters in Moria (my god 5.5 deepway is rape personified) ran a couple instances (the dark delving will be nerfed to hell I can feel it that instance is way too luck based). Overall it's been good. I even bought a small dwarven house (which is fine for me, but they have a quest that nets you a large bear rug you can't put anywhere in your small house!).

The funniest thing to me was there is a quest for 6.2 or so (the last book in moria so far) that requires you to have goblin and orc slayer in moria, by that point anyone would have already passed advanced with both those traits let alone slayer!

I joined a small kinship on EN-Evernight today. They're kinda desperate on what to do, so I don't think I'll be with them long, but at least I have some folks to chat with while playing. For as far as I know we don't have Europeans playing so I won't bother linking the kinship here.

That's fine aldo, yeah I'm in a small going nowhere kinship as well, which kind of sucks to know, but until I have a good reason I'm not leaving. I do have some friends who invite me to instances as of late. Hopefully that continues.

So far, I have to say this game is fucking amazing. I don't know why this isn't making a bigger splash. I don't really mind, cause I kind of like it a bit empty, cause I don't have people cosntantly bothering me, stealing mobs or nodes. I can just........play and have fun. But it'd be nice for the devs who have made such an amazing product to get the following they deserve.

Every once in a while, I will catch a glimpse of some gorgeous graphics and it will just take my breathe away. The Middwater Marshes at Dusk and Dawn are amazing.

I'm on Landroval as Raius. He's my lvl 43 champ, first character, and this is probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I was new to MMOs at first, tried WoW and didn't get into it but I loooooooove LOTRO. Any friends I have who are Warcraft players have said they enjoy LOTRO and think its a good game but their loyalty is with WOW. And at 11.5 mil strong, I can see how LOTRO hasn't been making many waves. Luckily there will always be the LOTR fans to keep it going. Can't tell you how many age 50+ people I've played with it who have played maybe Pong and that's it, but play because it's the closest they can get to Tolkien's world.

I've noticed that it's nice to level in Forochel and Eregion (then Moria to 52ish), then head to Angmar. Angmar seems a lot less forgiving from 45-50 than either of those areas, and I'm now comfortable soloing in that godforsaken wasteland.

I went from 40-43 in Angmar. Now I'm taking a break to do some Forochel then I'll head back to the wasteland.

I am really digging the towns in this game. Everyone seems to know about everyone else and htey all share a similar mood. I love the Men in the towns surrounding Archet refer to it burning to the ground and how times are scary and we need to stick together, and be prepared.

Then I get to the hobbits and they're like......Man, I wanna hook up with that widow. ANd I love my farm. Totally oblivious to 99% of the shit going on around htem, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Hobbits are hilarious, their constant gossiping, 2nd lunches and aversion of adventure is genius. Best hobbit is the one in a little boat close to Stock yelling to hobbits on the coast that he is on an adventure and that he is from Frogmorton. :P

My kin had this on their "useful links" page and damn, this is even more useful than the Dynamic Map: http://www.thebrasse.com/lotro/ Just fill out the name of a quest or some random words. First you'll get a precise description of the quest and - if someone bothered - a description on what to do. The best part is that all coordinates are links to a big flash map that shows a neat circle on the exact spot. It's ridiculously easy to use and it made my search for a particular umbrella a lot easier.

The quest was submitted by someone going by the name of Wren...our Wren??

Is there some generous soul with a buddy code to spare so that I might have a chance to check it out?

My friend is supposed to get this for Christmas, so I'm going to download it and see if I should pick it up too. I was just going to look for a trial code, now that I've got it DLed, but didn't spot one. Then I figured I should ask here, too. Anyone with the 'founder' thing that gives a discount? If not, I guess I can ask the person I know with a lifetime membership, but I'd like to try it now.

I had an account when I beta tested this, but I can't seem to get it to send me my password. Too bad.

Any lore masters out there? I just hit 14 and got The Bear and I am pretty disappointed. I guess I was expecting a Void Walker or Bear from WoW hunter type of pet. One that can take a pretty good beating. But my bear takes less of a beating then I do.

I find myself near depleted after pretty much every fight with my Lore Master, where my Warden kicks ass and takes name with damn near everything.

    Any tipes on Lore Master?

I typically send my Pet in, cast debuffs on the mob, cast Fireball, then Wind. If my pet still has aggro, I prolly have to heal them, and then cast fireball and Staff smack till the mob is dead.

Should I be doing something different? Cause my bear is getting it's ass kicked. Kinda sucks it's stuck 2 levels below me.

I played LM during open beta, and I have shoddy memory, but don't you have a buff or two to put on your bear? Also: maybe don't bother with going through your debuffs on normal mobs?

If I don't bother debuffing straight out, the first fireball does so much damage the mob agrros me then runs to me and slaps me around with ease.

It's very weird. Both me and my pet are very squishy, not really sure how to over come that. :(

And so far the only buff I can put on the bear is to either make it do more damage and cause more threat, or do a lot more parrying, blocking and hte like.

The threat one works, but my bear dies a lot. :)

The dodging one works, but the bear can't hold aggro and I die.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I just read: http://www.lotroinfo.com/lore-master_intro

And it seems I may not have picked hte best class for my, Only solo type of play. I think I may have to restart a new toon. :(

I love my warden, what would compliment it in your opinion? Maybe a hunter? I kind of want something that isnt melee since my warden is.

Yep, I think I will be rolling a Hobbit Hunter!

I dunno LMs seem like the kind of class that starts weak and gets better. Burglars are good solo classes because they have evasion buffs they can use, stealth, and other tips and tricks for slugging it out with mobs.

A Burglar could be fun, but I personally never really liked stealth classes.

I think I'll go Hunter for poops and giggles. I won't delete the LM, maybe I'll get the urge to play it again.

Another thing to note is that Moria is in 3D, and an overhead does not do it justice. Some areas of Moria are several levels in height.

    Thanks.

So far, playing through the Intro again has been fun. Hasn't changed since Beta as far as I saw. Found the little cairn again. Playing as a Minstrel is amusing. I rock out on my lute and it blasts people. Do you get anything when you level up besides being able to buy skills? I thought I saw a tip telling me to spend my level up points, or something else I missed...

After downloading, installing, patching, etc. this Mines of Moria folder is still on my desktop. With lots of 'Mines of Moria Setup' files and one .exe too. Can I delete this, or do I need to leave it there?

I checked a few out. It def. seems like htey get more powerful as they level. I'm not sure I want to go through that "lull" period now.

I rolled a Hunter last night, a wee little hobbit, and I only played a bit but man does that class pack some Kaboom. I was killing mobs my level before they even touched me. Sweet. :)

One thing I want to know is, my hobbit's intro has taking me to archet. I don't want to follow hte same path as my Warden, I want to see new things, mainly hte shire. After I finish the Prologue, will it send me to the Shire or will it keep doing the same Story quest as my Warden?

At a certain level you get Destiny points. You can use those to buy small buffs, or rested XP or things for your Creep character. Then as you complete deeds you can put traits into your trait slots that seem to open up more and more as you level.

loremasters are about kiting and also flanking. you have to train yourself to look for the Flanked! proc, and always take advantage of it for a bigass staff bonk or an instant self-heal. I haven't played the game in over a year so I don't know how much is changed.

Actually, that's kind of a lie - I came back for a free week recently, and was so completely overwhelmed by the changes to my class... I simply have too many spells now, and it's really hard to decide on when to use what. It's funny, but I was pretty happy with the class before they revamped it. It was missing maybe a little bit of versatility, but I had pretty much everything I needed to do my job. Mez, 2 AoE roots, debuffs, damage spells, heals, power transfers... and then they went and added about 10 more spells, literally, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing anymore... sadly, I did not resubscribe, even though I did love the game enough to get to 50 back at release...
