So... I started playing Travian as a source of entertainment in the two minutes that I have to fucking spare at work.

Unfortunately, I think I'm hopelessly addicted now.

    Me and my coworkers used to play it.

    It's pretty rad and not that time consuming.

    I tried out this game out in my meaningless attempt to find fulfillment in my quest to find a good web based strategy game. I played for a month and found it boring and repetitive. When you get to the point to where you can actually do something military wise your either under attack by aggressive players in an attempt to farm you for resources or you don't have enough targets to raid resources from to justify building up your military. Falling into the trap of many similar types of massive multiplayer browser ilk, Travian becomes a game of hunt the inactives at that point to properly grow. Unless as a previous poster stated you "babysit" the game 24/7, the game becomes nothing but a mindless and endless chore waiting for time to pass so you can build stuff to get more resources to build more stuff. What's more your village can easily be destroyed in a few days even though it may have taken you 8 weeks to build it up. If you find yourself in a position where your technically dead and unable to do anything, the only recourse that you have is to start over somewhere else. Interaction with other players varies depending if you can find yourself with active players in alliances that usually have rules such as if your not active they will attack and take your resources. Unless you like Social Darwinism being played out in your gaming experience you probably want to avoid the this game and the numerous clones that copy Travian's format to the letter.

    As it was already said it will suck out your soul and leave an empty vacuum of a shell.
