Rakuen is just a Cowboy Bebob/Yoko Kanno bitch is all.
wow. Either you were there when I've explained my name once, or you're like Digital says and a complete pyschic.
rakuen directly means "paradise" in Japanese. It was, and still is a firm belief by some, that life is just an eternal dream and when you die, that is when you truely "awaken". This is also the backbone to the character of Cowboy Bebop, Spike Siegel.
I literally got the first word from a song in the anime series,TRIGUN. It plays in the scene where Wolfwood finally realizes why he's put on this earth and speaks directly to god with nothing holding him back. Probably the saddest scene I've ever seen in any anime, especially if you've followed the anime since episode 1.
I purposely lowercase it due to a word, and not my official "name". Think of it more as an adjective than a noun, to describe Callisto.
Callisto is the 3rd largest moon of Jupiter and holds a long history of mystic and scientific significance. It is highly regarded as the "old" earth, whereas it's completely covered by ice particles and dense atmosphere. It is a very old and rigid moon, and it got it's name from a mystic "nymph" that was honored as a hunter/huntress or someone who is always searching.
I got the idea for this name when in Cowboy Bebop my favorite character is from Callisto. It is a decile wasteland occupied by 97% male humans, where blues is very common due to the "loneliness" of the moon. The character is Gren Mars Eckener and was a skilled mercenary/soldier that was held responsible as a spy, and due to drugs to put away the nightmares, had a hormone imbalance and created excess breasts yet kept him looking like a man. The moon in the anime consists of two episodes and both are amazing. Also very very sad and led to a huge turn point in the anime.
My name used to be split with a semi-colon ; referring to Callisto from rakuen. After the recent patches I had to change it due to most servers not allowing a semi-colon in a name.
Therefore - rakuen:Callisto!
EDIT: And yes, the icon is of Naota from FLCL, quote possibly my favorite anime followed by my favorite band, The Pillows
Does anybody know if there's a server setting or anything to make dead chat public? Besides alltalk, that is.
Such a thing does exist via server mods.
We should do it IMHO if it doesn't interfere with anything. I think being able to talk to people while you wait is worth any minor difference being able to warn your team about stuff might make. It helps take the edge off long respawn times. People just bypass it with Vent/TS anyway.
I can enable it and we can try it out. I also loaded cp_corporation_b1 on the server.
My name used to be "Yuri" until more people associated that name with lesbian porn than Red Alert 2 or Yuri Gagarin.
And now you've got pedobear as your avatar.
The irony.
@DA: Well, I got the nickname "Yuri" from my friends because when we went in OGL-i I did most of the routes and squad leading in Counter-Strike. I also seemed to figure out where teams were going to go and find the exact counter-measure. My best friend said I "read their minds like Yuri" and it stuck.
My name is the name of a character in the comic book "Runaways" by Brian K Vaughen (writer on TV show Lost and comic book Y the last Man), Runaways is currently written by Joss Whedon
Alex Wilder was the leader of the Runaways a group of teens who found out their parents were murderous villians. The message of the book is that adults can't be trusted.
Alex Wilder is actually on the parents side, so Alex Wilder is a spy

Backronym explanation of my name. Or daredevil. But really I just made mine up, after I retired [AD]SpaceGhost in Q2 CTF.
Infotainment and I just spent like an hour going about the pubs since the PA servers were empty. It was pretty brutal. I watched an engineer on dustbowl run throughout the other teams offensive lines during a final push with his toolbox out attempting to set up a sentry but the enemy medics were blocking his way. Also he lived.
It was so fun* that jon's server filled up and we didn't even notice.
Since we're doing the stories of our names... Mandalore is less a name and more a title. It is what the leader of the Mandalorians is called, and Mandalore is always a powerful, respected warrior in the race of warriors. Its also the name of their planet, so I'm not 100% sure if "For Mandalore!" is talking about the man or the planet. There is alot more history, but thats the basics.
And my avatar/spray is of Mandalore the Ultimate, the greatest Mandalore. (Don't argue, nothing you could say could convince me otherwise) I picked the name when I got TF2, and was waiting to pick my title when I got better. However, since I mostly/only play medic... not sure if I could pick one that fits. Or if Mandalore fits at all.
But yeah, its from Star Wars. Yes, Boba Fett is Mandalorian. He later becomes Mandalore, too. And for those of you who haven't played the KotoR games(go do that now), Revan is the Jedi who kills Mandalore the Ultimate, so thats why I laugh every time I heal the player who goes by Revan.

To say you hate all anime is like saying you hate all sports, or you hate all movies. It's apples and oranges people, a mix bag. Dragon Ball Z and Naruto (english version only) are horrible, while Bleach, Death Note and FLCL are all incredibly unique and amazing animes.
Not all animes are 12 armed demon dudes trying to molest underage school girls like Zen, nor are they always some guy dying 30x and coming back to life some how.
If anyone is into really really really cool sci-fi stuff and you haven't really got into good anime, checkout Akira I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Anime did take me a couple times to watch to catch EVERYTHING, but it's got to be one of the best animes (movie) ever made.

And Freakish Light - I agree also. Only sport i don't dislike is snowboarding and eating-mass-quantities-of-food-faster-and-longer-than-the-guy-next-to-you.
Edit: Before DOD:S and sourceish type stuff, my name for all of HL and anything HL/CS/DOD/q3 anything was nimrodd with 2 d's. No one had that name either and I had it for a good 7 years also (98-99').
But THE ultimate name I used while playing TFC was... DaRkSniPeR! DUN DUN DUNNNN (I was much better at sniping in previous games)
Fiaryn is the name of one of the first characters I ever roleplayed. I've used it as a sort of persistent internetz identity since. It's my login for everything.

Yes, thats my brother. There was also someone named Admiral Thrawn playing too. It mainly amuses me is that most people would have no idea what the hell any of them have to do with Star Wars.
Earthbound is something that I just started using for TF2. Which is probably the reason I am constantly changing my nick. How will you know that it's me? Just look for the:
My forum name is Demon cause in grade seven my nickname was Demon. I have a long tongue. Also, back then I thought writing in a mixture of small and big caps was cool.
Toxic Cizzle I got because my actual initials are T.C. Me and my friends had a short-lived humorous rap group in which my name was T. Cizzle. I got Toxic from an inside joke between me and my friend, in which we stayed up for hours and watched Batman & Robin, and in the background my friend thought he saw a sign that said "Toxic Legumes". A few hours later, after being awake for about a day, we played Counter-Strike Source, completely out of it, chanting "tooooxic leguuuuumes" and getting mad headshots.

Donate or order a gameserver and help out!
p.s. I'm jealous that I have no cool back story that involves some awesome anime to my name.
I fail to see the issue.

Anyway, where did "Zen Vulgarity" come from? It's one of the more odd names I've come across.
in other news, i'm excited to try corporation tonight
e: hmm, i guess that link is dead. try here instead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beast_(game)
God damnit I swear in Warcraft 3 they pronounced Lich like Litch, not Lick.
See, it was a play on words.

only name I've ever used for gaming and forums

I'm sorry for what I said
warcraft 3 was where i cut my teeth with it mostly.
i think i used it ages ago because i used to collect warhammer 40k and had a pretty fuckign awesome necron army back in the early 90s.
So, what, two years ago?
You can read that two ways: that Zen is trying to molest underage schoolgirls or that Zen is an underage schoolgirl. Both are hilarious.
Also, I do hate all sports. Just throwing that out there.
I've used this name for 7 years now

did I write something that said I hate anime here.
I must be going crazy.

If you did both of those at once or in quick succession, it would be quickly followed by Extreme Vomiting.
Thats it.
FUN FACT OF THE DAY
"zot" is Dutch for "idiot" or "crazy person"

then I added a Z to it
because we all know an extra z makes it extra EXTREEEEEEEME
