So for a while I been wanting a digital camera..and also a new phone. So I figure why not combine the two? Specialy since I hear that camera's have come a long way in phones.
So recommend away PA folks. I'm well aware I'll be paying quite a bit for any phone with a good camera, but I think it'll be worth it.
There is no such thing as a great camera phone. Camera phones largely lack the ability to take reasonably good photos. Most are in the 1.3 to 2 megapixel range with a few others available. They use such a small sensor that noise is inevitable. That combined with their higher ISO setting, makes lots of noise.
You are better off to get a phone that does what you want, and get an inexpensive digital camera in the 6 or greater megapixel range. You can spend from $100 to $200 and get a great digital camera for point and shoot. And if you don't need the camera features on the phone, just get a cheap durable phone.
My point of reference on this is that I used to be a cell phone handset tech, and I am a professional photographer.
