Finding out what kind of RAM I need.

TachTach Registered User regular
Guys, I'm at work right now, but the subject came up and I'm curious to know.

I have a store-bought HP that's a bit over 2 years old. I found out that it just ain't got enough gun fer mah tastes, and I want to update the RAM.

Problem is, how can I be sure of what type I need? Unno what's in it now- how can I check without opening it up and digging through the guts? Or is there no recourse?

Crucial.com has a small application you can download that checks for you.

Download and run this, just go to the RAM tab and it'll tell you everything you need.
