The hell? Our cat disappeared. [Solved, lock please]
So my sister and I just got a new cat. She's been kind of weird and standoffish so far, but when she's feeling nice she's pretty cuddly and sweet. We've had her since Wednesday with no problems, and she's an indoor kitty so we're keeping her inside.
Last night I was the last to go to sleep and before I did I said goodnight to the kitty who was sleeping on an empty bed in another room. There were no doors and windows in the whole house open, and there was nobody here except for myself, my sister, and our dog (who has seen the cat once and was extremely submissive and docile).
My sister woke me up this morning before leaving for work to say that she can't find Spooky anywhere. I told her not to worry since there's no way she could have gotten out and I'll find her when I wake up. Well, now I'm awake and I can't find her anywhere. I can't think of anywhere she could have disappeared to and she's normally pretty talkative and responsive when spoken to.
I know it's kind of hard to give ideas of where a cat might be without any idea of a layout of my house, but anyone have any suggestions for how I might find her?
How do you feed her? Leave some food/water out and see if she gets hungry and goes to eat.
She has a bowl of food and water out all the time, I've been checking on it periodically but I don't want to move it from her normal spot since she's only been here a couple days.
My brother's cats like to hide inside cupboards, any tight space they probably shouldn't be in. It seems it's only been a few hours, so I would just give it some time, and she'll most likely pop up. Check in cabinets, under beds, behind anything and everything, in closets, in the dryer/washer. I wouldn't move any of her stuff, as she'll probably come out looking for it when she's ready.
