Jeez that's a lot of stuff. I'm actually not a big fan of NIN but enjoyed Year Zero quite a bit so the purely instrumental stuff is pretty appealing to me. Looking forward to the site coming back up and trying the free songs.
pip this is really grey area though. from the torrent desciption:
Now that we\\\'re no longer constrained by a record label, we\\\'ve decided to personally upload Ghosts I, the first of the four volumes, to various torrent sites, because we believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method, and we believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them.

I'm pretty sure the general theory is, if it's on shaky ground
For $300 I want Reznor to be the UPS guy that delivers it to me. If I had $75 to spare, though, I'd buy the cheaper version. But I don't. I don't have $75 to spare for a few CDs, picture book, and Blu-Ray disc to play on the PS3 I don't have
After an hour of patience, praying and refreshing I've finally bought the $5 version and am downloading now. Now, the download better not fuck up, I really don't want to email them to give me a new bloody link.
when you guys get the full downloads can you compare the four albums?
See this has been me with NIN lately. Just not blown away. I've been listening for almost half of my life now, and it's just... man, lately, no thanks, Reznor.
Just an FYI, he selling ~256kbps VBR mp3s at Amazon too. That's where I got mine. Not a giant NIN fan myself, but I did enjoy Year Zero and the Fragile...plus it's without a doubt a worthy cause. I'm all behind the end of the RIAA. I agree that I'm not blown away, but there's nothing here turning me off. It's interesting background music. And if you read the articles, I don't think he intended this to be an album initially - it seems like a lot of...not quite improvisation, but just going where the music wanted to be written. If you can afford the $5, it's easily worth it.
1kDicks, I had the exact same thought. But sadly Audiosurfing NIN will have to wait till tomorrow cause I'm beat tonight. Going to nod off to the new tunes.

the difference is i don't really like the fragile, really liked Year Zero so i was hoping i'd like this
I went for the free one just to check it out.
I'm a big NIN fan, but am also highly...poor.
aaaand the dl failed. I wonder if they'll let me try again.

I'm going to order the $10 version as soon as I get home.

And the site is up, it just takes forever and a day to load.

Worth the five bucks if you have it to spare.
Downloading it now, and listening to the free version
Its like a cross between Still and The Fragile.....simply beautiful.
Will order the full 75$ version when the servers calm down

SteamID: Baroque And Roll
But yeah nin.com is probably going to be dead for a while.
edit: apparently i can't mention the site, but it is the NIN camp doing the uploading so it's all legit.

Trent will have to take my $5 some other day.
It's the free stuff, uploaded by the official NIN people, I think it's fine. I mean, it's a legit download.

If there's even one song on there that's like 'Sunspots' this will be well worth the 3 Euros.
