Computer has random restarts with blue screen error.

I just purchased a new computer. It's a Dell XPS 210 running Vista Home Premium.

It will randomly restart. It gives a blue screen error that is filled with codes and messages that flashes far too quickly for me to read before disappearing, and then the computer restarts, asking if it should boot up in safe mode or just normally.

So far there doesn't appear to be a common denominator. It will do it when I log into hotmail, or it will do it when I'm surfing the web. It will do it when I'm not here, and my only indication is that I receive a message letting me know that the computer reset, and it would like me to know if I want to send the error information to Microsoft.

I'm running PC Cillin for anti-virus and I have Ad-aware for spyware.

The only things that have been installed onto this computer are the recommended drivers for the monitor, the software for the Logitech keyboard and mouse, and then Ad-aware.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Back when my Vista used to bluescreen on shutdown, when I'd reboot it there was always an option to send the info to Microsoft and check for a solution. I clicked that, it found a solution and there was no longer a problem. You ought to have this option too.

Secondly there's a way to turn off 'automatic restart on bluescreen' so you can see exactly what's going on, but I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure someone will post soon who does :)

Doesn't windows log crashes and information pertaining to them somewhere? I'm sure you can look at the various logs somewhere in the Administrative tools. I'd check, but I can't be arsed rebooting. Anyone else wanna have a go?

    Edit:
Okay, so I decided I'd jump on my old desktop and have a looksee. Note that this is for XP Pro, but I don't see why it should be different for Vista (well, I guess they changed everything else... but here's hoping!). So I just went to Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools, and clickied on Event Viewer. I guess I'd probably have a look in the System logs, first, but if you don't find any errors that relate to the problem you're having, maybe have a look somewhere else. And double click the record for more info.

I had a similar problem with my computer at work. If the crashes are random, and not related to a particular action, it may be a bad stick of RAM.
