Well, I'm really not in a position to make a statement on the necessity of such a board, but I would certainly frequent one. I voted for post occasionally, but that's because I'm generally a lurker - I don't post all that often period.
However, when I do post, a wider variety of tabletop threads would entice me to post more often as my reasons for lurking usually involve not bothering to have a post buried and ignored in a mega-thread. And also, without a doubt I would regularly read the forum; The tabletop threads in G&T are most often my favorite threads to go through.
Also, as for the consolidation issue, I would like to say that I stay mostly within G&T, a bit in D&D and occasionally in H/A if I'm really bored... so that cuts out any kind of TT posting I might see in AC, for example; and I'm probably not going to see that stuff in H/A either. That means my only outlet is to try and guess generic search terms that might pull up TT threads and then sort through the results... needless to say, I don't do it that often. I'd love to have all of that at my fingertips.
EDIT: Also, the only reason I even saw this thread was because of the moved topic in G&T.
Hey, even I voted for "Post Regularily", even if it would only be to provide some counter to all the mini and RPG gaming crap this forum would instantly become crudded with.
hehe
sometimes, people won't go into the other forums due to the mods or posters there Hell, I've tried to widen my horizons. I think a seperate forum would develop its own subculture more conducive to tabletop gaming discussions, though.
If I drew a character for a game, I wouldn't want AC help with it because, in general, my drawing style sucks. I'd want somebody to examine it from a non-technical perspective. I'm not interested in created a good picture- just a good character.
I know I have participated in more than one DnD discussion in SE, and as great as they are, they are quickly drowned out. And, like I said before, I would probably not look at G&T for DnD ... because I rarely go to G&T, and have never seen a thread there that I'd post in. It just moves too quickly for the one or two threads I'd find of interest to be visible for long.
It's not a necessary subforum, but it would be a nice one. While not too entirely into tabletop, I would lurk more than a little and post a bit there, too.

If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing
So at what point does this stop becoming a proposal and turn into a trial run? At least, I've seen that the general tune of this thread is in support. Do we have to send up the Whippy-signal into the night sky?

I've been thinking about it, and I could definitely make a Trivial Pursuit thread work.
Also, most of the current mods who have posted so far have been against the idea of this forum, so I would suggest modding-up the people who have been pushing for it the most, eg. Jasconius. That way they have a vested interest in making it work.
Europe and Canada would have to be set ablaze and the foundations of most of the united states would have to collapse in on itself and if I were the last person left alive there would still be less than a 10% chance of that happening.

Give the poll a couple days, and give Alpha and Whippy (and possible the rest of the admin team) the chance to mull it over.
I think it's better we go in over-prepared than under-prepared. I don't think the whole idea is going to collapse for a few days worth of waiting (and if it does, then it didn't have much to stand on to begin with, did it?)
We are already discussing this in our secret treehouse.

It's just crazy enough to work
we should bring back Social Devastation
just for one day
one glorious day
yes
also we should have a rule forbidding the stupid practice of liming
If this becomes a poll option, I want my vote back.
I will never forget Ramius's post
"Social Devastation was best summed up by this quote."
"Wow, we went a whole page without someone posting gay porn"
fuckin' scrabble for the win

Here's the chart
Borfase - 0% chance
Jasconius - 0.00000001% chance
That was Borfase of the past
ok
redo
claymore1815 - 0% chance
jasconius - 0.000000001% chance

Now it's not a secret. Fuck.
Though, the devil's advocate in me wonders how we'd keep things fair, seeing as the internet's secondary purpose is for looking up trivia.

Everyone else, I'm waiting until Saturday when I have more time to deal with this.
Killer, I'll keep quiet til then.
I would love to mod it, but I won't be selected.
The only reason I bring that up is because I have already "burned that bridge" by mentioning modding before.
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
I would totaly be up for a bit of that. Like in addition to all the obvious pen and paper D&D stuff.
Or, just The Kitchen Table.
