Yes, the five removed items I posted are confirmed as gone.

Unless you think the Red Shell could be grouped under "Green Shell". (>.-.)>

Naw, I'd say that's pretty definitive.

    Also:
Posting a description of each of these might be a bit too much work...

But what the heck, let’s do it.

I’ve already started the process, and I might as well lay it all out.

Hey, to anyone who has the game, quick question about Final Smashes. If I'm playing a timed brawl, and I'm playing as, say, Lucario. I get the smash ball, I use aura beam, and I take out all three of my opponents. I know each of these guys lose one point, but do I gain ONE point, or do I gain three?? This applies to anyone with the huge final smashes that can kill three people at once (Samus or Mario for example).

Every KO scored, regardless of surrounding conditions, is +1 for the KOer and -1 for the KOee. So, in your situation, everyone loses a point but Lucario, who gains three.

it doesn't really matter though, cuz this would NEVER happen with Lucario's FS XD

    Something around 290.

Edit: I seem to recall there being one or two trophies that were more or less unattainable in the U.S. SSBM. This might just be dementia on my part, though.

So yeah, I'd say 600-ish trophies is a damn good number, especially considering all the ground that 290 managed to cover.

Forty: you may have dementia, but you're correct. There was Mario riding Yoshi and a helmet-less Samus (I think) unavailable in the U.S. without hacking the game.

You are correct. They are Tamagon (from Devil World), Mario riding Yoshi and Helmet-less Samus. Mario and Samus weren't normally obtainable in the JP version either, there was some special event thing to unlock them, I dunno. They just never did it here.

    Another question regarding online play.

    Scenario:

Player A and Player B have both registered each other's Wii friend codes.
Player A and Player C have both registered each other's Wii friend codes.
Player B and Player C have NOT registered each other's Wii friend codes.

If Player A, Player B, and Player C are all in the Wifi "with friends" menu, which combinations of players can play together? Obviously Player A can play in a game with either Player B or Player C, but can all three play in one game together? If so, would this only happen if Player A were "hosting" the game?

I guess I haven't read very many specifics of how "with friends" match setups work. Someone has to "host" a game for others to join, I take it?

Sorry if this was all made painfully clear somewhere, but all I've ever seen on Wifi play is the happy path scenario where two people register each other's Wii codes and then play together online.

Edit: Yes, I know I asked more than one question here.

Very interesting, if that's true it means they can patch after all, and actually did a balance patch because they thought better of a change from the Japanese version. The only question is whether or not they'll bother keeping an eye on the game and fixing bugs/imbalances that come up.

Edit: Yes, I know I asked more than one question here.

You're basically asking if friends of friends can join and play. I think this was the case in early games like Mario Kart DS where there was no host, just everybody be on and searching at the same time.

Now though, when you want to start a game, somebody hosts the game and creates a room. Then, they can either invite anybody on their friend list, or anybody who has the host on their list can see the game and join that way. So essentially, only friends of whoever is hosting can play together. So, now that I think about it, if Player A hosts, then Player's B and C should be able to play with each other. In theory...

I just pieced this info from what I can gleam from the dojo. If it's actually different in execution, somebody with the game will have to clarify then.

it'll be especially interesting because some people won't ever go online or go online once and miss a future patch, so you have a bunch of different versions floating around.

It seems to be the case that you can join a room that a friend is in, even if he is playing with "strangers". I don't know how hosting effects it, however. You are given the option to click-to-add the other people to your friend list when you get in the room, also.

Of course, for those people high-level game balance probably isn't incredibly important anyway. Plus every new printing will come with the fixes already on the disc, so I can't see it being too big a deal down the road.

edit: it appears I've been beaten. Maybe I should've gotten the patch first.

    You mean like Melee?

On a serious note, I wouldn't expect more than one, maybe two patches. Perhaps one in two or three months time addressing any major bug and balance issues (should they arise), and then one two months after that designed to correct for the problems caused by the first patch. Remember, this is Nintendo we're talking about, not some PC RTS or MMO.
