So I've decided to take a summer job that will require me to live in the lovely city of Palmdale, CA. My impression of Palmdale is that it is a real hell hole with NOTHING to do and summer temperatures well over 100 degrees. Just my luck that there are a lot of aerospace happenings there.
My question to you is whether or not there is ANYTHING to do in Palmdale as a 20 year old with a car and a job?
What can a 20 year old do in Palmdale to have some fun, meet people, etc? (Apart from driving into LA)
I like outdoors stuff like mountain biking and digging through old record stores
"We move from South Central
To the desert of the real high
Palmdale-Lancaster
Blue suburban sky
When I come home late at night
The sheriff harasses me
He puts me in the choke hold
So bad I can barely breath"
Yeah, that's pretty accurate. Your out in the desert there. Lancaster's got an automall, but not much else worth noting. Even driving to LA is a bit of a schlep from Palmdale. If you do like camping, you're sort of already halfway to the mountains. Owen's Valley is nice in late spring, at least the last time I was there (up near Mammoth). Other than that, I think you might be SOL.
