Hey guys! I love puzzles and word games, and recently I've been asking my friends for some cool riddles, but they don't seem to know very many. Anyone here know any good ones?

I'm just looking for some nice, clean fun. I don't really care about dirty jokes; they're normally pretty boring/obnoxious to me, so if you could refrain from posting them in THIS thread, that would rock. Maybe make a new thread for that, I don't know.

But if you have some awesome brainteasing riddles for me, I'd like to hear them! Thanks! ^_^

This one if from an OKCupid test. I couldn't figure it out... then I posted it in [chat] and themightypuck solved it by looking at it.
Each number shown below follows a certain rule. Figure out the rule and fill in the missing number. August: 9 June: 6 October: 12 September: ?

What two things can you never eat for breakfast?

September=12. The rule is that each word is worth 3 plus 3 per syllable.

You think? Puck had a different answer:
    18. The rule is that it's number of consonants * 3.
OKCupid doesn't provide the actual answers, so we'll never know I guess :(

August would be 12 by Pucks answer, then.
    No.
    August has three consonants, G S T, and 3*3 = 9.

Edit: Just to clarify I thought you meant consonant in a phonetic sense rather than as opposed to vowels.

I gotta say, I'm really terrible with math; like awful. It's pretty embarrassing actually, since I can't even do simple equations. All the statistics and numbers sort of escape me.

My favorite (but easy and well known) riddle is:

What are we all born with that the poor have and the rich need? Also, you'll die if you eat it.
    Nothing.

And...what can you put in a barrel to make it lighter?
    A hole.

I think a riddle like that requires a larger set.

This one's a better riddle when you say it out loud but here it is anyways for all two of you who haven't heard it:

Queen Anne likes the moon but hates the sun. Queen Anne likes eating all meals with a spoon but never a fork. Queen Anne enjoys keeping pet rabbits but despises cats.

Which gift would Queen Anne appreciate most: a large sapphire, fine silk, or gold bars?
    The sapphire. Double letters.

I've always enjoyed the "ask yes or no question" types of riddles. Whenever I tell the ones I know, I get to hear more from other enthusiasts. It's great.

Oh, and here's a cool one in the more regular form:

    All across the countryside,
    to front doors he travels.
But you never invite him in.
    The path

There are a bunch like that from Betrayal at Krondor, an old PC RPG.

    http://www.hi.is/~eybjorn/krondor/riddtest.html

Edit: Oh, and if you want to start a yes-or-no question riddle, here's a good one.

    Music stops, lady dies.

Figure out what happened, and why.

    Music stops, lady dies.

Figure out what happened, and why.

    Questions:

Is the type of music that was being played relevant to how she died?
If yes, what type of music was being played?
    Are they playing MUSICAL CHAIRS?
If no, I'm sad because that was my best guess, and I hate you.
What is the source of the music? A band? A radio?

I always enjoy this classic riddle.

A hunter walked one mile south from his camp. He then walked one east where he found and shot a bear. He then walked one mile north and found that he was back at his camp. What color was the bear?
White, it was a polar bear and his camp was at the North Pole
