Shipping an Item to Australia

I need to ship an mp3 player to someone in Australia. I'm looking for a cheap way to do it preferably not USPS. I live in the United States. I've checked UPS and FedEx and the cheapest they would do it was $75.

I've shipped things to Australia many times. I've used USPS because it was cheaper and the first few times it wasn't anything expensive. However last time it was an iPhone and it got there with no problems. Why not use USPS?

TNT and DHL are two other options but I'm 99.9% sure they are not going to be cheap, especially compared to USPS. I also hate them and their service so I wouldn't recommend them but they're still an option.

I'm really curious about the "not USPS" condition you've placed on this :)

There's a reason they are the cheapest, they're a government service.

Why would it be 75 dollars? how much does it weigh? That seems ridiculous. I have had shipped over here for <10 dollars that weighed a fair bit.

I shipped a ~4lb package from the US to AUS via USPS for 4-6$. That's almost assuredly your cheapest bet compared to any of the others mentioned.
