I guess I should wait until tomorrow to freak out, but there's a good chance that the company owners will tell us they're closing the company, leaving me without a job.
I was just wondering about the European laws surrounding this. Like, do they need to give me any notice before not paying me? Or could they literally kick us out on our tods tomorrow? I'm in a really financially insecure position, in Uni debt, working in London and paying off each week as it comes, so it's not like I have much of a warchest to take this hit.
Most people in the company have been there for like a decade, so they'll be alright with redundancy pay, but I've only been there for 4 months so I doubt I'm entitled to anything.
Put your resume together tonight. Send it out tomorrow. Also, it wouldn't hurt to pick up some hours waiting tables if you get stuck waiting to hear back from potential career oriented employers.
