iPod album sorting !!! vs â€

So at some point in the last year or whatever Apple changed their sorting and put #s and symbols AFTER the alphabetical listings....
... is there a way to change this so they appear before?
Anyways the main problem is that for some reason when I view music by album, there will be several entries for Justice's † and !!!'s !!!, whereas there is a single entry for every other album, even other albums by !!!, for example.
They are the last 2 to appear in the list, and the only 2 albums with symbols for album names.
They appear one after the other, in a † then !!! then † pattern, for several entries. Each album, when clicked, brings me to a list of all the songs in that album. That is, each of the multiple entries are identical, except for appearing multiple times.
This has persisted through multiple syncs, and even trying to change a few things here and there so that the albums were redownloading to the iPod entirely.
No change.
It's a minor annoyance but I'd like to deal with it, finally.

As for symbols and numbers being on the end now, this annoyed me too but I haven't worked out how to restore it.
