...oh, and if I end up not being rescued by the time I leave tomorrow, I may cancel the request... seeing that I would want to play something while I'm outside waiting for a pickup.
So, let's hope that code works
OK then, I'm giving you all 48 hours or you're off that case. And none of your maverick shit either, I want it done by the book. :P
Whew!... I got you on the 4th try. I almost blew it too. I was a Pacorepkin going around the room your body was in trying to kill all the enemies one by one. Unfortunately I woke up a tank and it kept blowing up the walls around me. I was right up against the far west wall of the floor so I couldn't move any more that direction. One more hit and I was dead. Fortunately I was able to move into the south wall and escape.
Nice work flux. Who'd have thought that the mayor was involved?
Man I just died a bunch of the stupidest deaths I ever died. In a short amount of time.
I died in Mountaintop Forest (7) where a ghost leveled up a skull mage.
I got into a fucking Monster Room and plundered everything only to die by a Spike Bomb on th next floor, then when I came back, it was two Spike Bombs and then a Tiger Uho threw my ho' Oryu at me.
Good thing I don't really care right now because I'm just trying to level up Pekeji.
What's with the monsters that split like fucking protozoa? Just died due to carelessness, but the only reason I was sticking around was because this greenwalrus shit decided to split like four times and each of them grabbed a jar of holding, in which were my riceballs (spread out among the jars, but fuckers grabbed almost all of em), so I was chasing them down one by one to get my jars back. Then I miss this Master Hen with arrows a few times and misjudged how much damage he'd deal, forgetting I only had a hide shield on instead of my usual bronzeward+something.
Oh, well, hopefully someone does a rescue soon-ish.
I can't believe the retarded mistakes I keep making. A couple days ago I accidentally put my best weapon into a Jar of Change.
This time I had a Strengthening Jar with 5 items in it. It was my first Strengthening Jar so I didn't know how Extraction Scrolls worked on it. I assumed each Extraction Scroll would allow me to select 1 item to remove from the jar. Instead it tried to take all the items out, but because I was in my warehouse with only one empty space, 4 of the 5 of the items disappeared.
I got my Katana+50, but lost my Mastersword+60, an Armor Ward (+40ish) with a bunch of mods, a Sealing Staff and a Staff of Misfortune (each with maybe 30-40 charges).
Fay's Final Lv16: Made a monster house, and got too weak. Next floor I just kinda got killed. The reason I can't give this round up is because I found a TON of great stuff. I got a windshield AND a kabra reborn AND a happy armband AND an armband of sight. You can't beat that
Fay's Final Lv16: Made a monster house, and got too weak. Next floor I just kinda got killed. The reason I can't give this round up is because I found a TON of great stuff. I got a windshield AND a kabra reborn AND a happy armband AND an armband of sight. You can't beat that
If you save me, you can bring that awesome stuff back to your main game.
I'd be all over that if I had the Final Puzzle unlocked. Sorry.
Quick question on melding: If I make a Katana as the base weapon and a mastersword with several mods as the secondary weapon, will the Katana get all of the mastersword's mods or no mods (since the mastersword by default has no special properties)?
all the mastersword's mods, but not it's base power. Use the master sword as your base, there's no reason not to.
There is a reason to use the katana over the mastersword:
A +50 Katana can be upgraded to a Kabra (though you lose all mods when you do.)
Ideally, I'd have a melding jar or two with a razor wind, unbreakable pick, and whatever else I can swing waiting for a newly-created Firebrand in the next town's warehouse. It'll be quite a while until my sword gets up that high - lost my Armband of Sight on the Tainted Path and it's hard to have enough money for melding jars without being able to see the caches in the return-able section. Thanks for clearing that up, though - I'll go for the Firebrand.
Did not know that. Is anyone willing to go for my rescue?
I'll give it a shot. I haven't made it that far in Fay's myself though so don't get your hopes up.
Edit: sorry, I can't rescue you because I haven't gotten to that floor. I wasn't aware that that was a requirement. Hopefully someone else will come along!
Hmm. Can anyone Rescue me? I died on the 5th level to a Rice Boss.
I got turned into a Riceball!
0000-0000-6238 is the WFC Rescue Number.
While this is never a good thing, people do realize they can still attack at full power, right? You aren't completely helpless just no access to items for a bit (and any special effects caused by your weapons, shields, or armbands will be temporarily disabled, just like when you take a monster form). So becoming a riceball is just like becoming a very useless creature that you don't get to determine when you change back from.
I had my only happiness armband on, mastersword+50 odd, with razor wind, drain, pick, dragon, bufu, rustless etc, armour ward+40 odd with a bunch of buffs, a few melding jars etc. I was about level 20, it was only the first couple of levels of the mines, piece of cake, right? I had no scrolls.
Infernos come at me, I cut them down one by one. It was a great hall monster room, a popster tank shoots me from across the room, splits the inferno next to me into two. He kills a spike bomb or something and he's now a dadster tank. Every square I move he fires a shot into these two infernos, who quickly become four, eight, sixteen freaking infernos surrounding me. Even cutting them down 3 at a time, they would form a wall, his splash would come through the wall and hit me for about 30 a pop. My chiro jars are running out, I'm about 30 squares from the exit. I start freaking out. This is my best (and pretty much only) gear. I stop and think. What the fuck can I do to live through this. His shells weren't hitting me anymore because there was a wall of infernos 3-deep. I end up somehow cutting a hole in them, walking diagonally so that he's in my line of sight. He shoots, I'm on 30 health with 1 chiro use left. I use the last chiro jar, he shoots, I'm on about 60 health. I use a switching staff against him which puts me about 40 squares from all of the action, and 3 squares from the exit. Luckily, the infernos closed the gap between us, I run for the exit. No shell, no shell, somehow a shell flies from the other end of the room, putting me on 30 health. I can't heal, I run the last square for the exit.
No shell. I made it, and shat my pants about 4 times.
Oh snap. I decided that since I'm such a beast these days, I'd check out the Golden City post-game. I went in, having no idea what it was. I died on the first freaking floor with all my awesome gear, several blank scrolls, 2 herbs of victory, air devil meats and whatnot. If you want any of that stuff as a reward and can handle the first floor of tainted path (there was some pretty good loot along the way as well), then PLEASE, please save me...
The Wifi code is 0000-0000-6251.
I'm not exactly sure how rescues work, can I leave my DS in sleep mode or something? Does it even have to be on? I thought I was gonna have a quick game before bed, now I'm up until 2:00am trying to fix this mess, and reading about all these horrible deaths.
Edit: P.S. do I have a chance at completing the tainted path? I have a sweet Mastersword+60 with bufu, razor and many more, an armour ward+50, happiness armband, tons of good gear (aforementioned blank scrolls, meat, victory herbs), and I'm level 34 already on the 1st floor of this dungeon. Will I live with a bit of luck and guile?
It doesn't need to be turned on, once you've posted a rescue you can do whatever you like. I'd be fairly confident you're not going to beat the Tainted Path with that gear without some serious luck and skill
I'll give the rescue a go and wing you a storehouse jar, so you can decide whether to go on or save your better gear and run screaming into the path of DOOOOM.
Edit: Rescued! The monster house with the corpse in had item bandits. I stepped on an alarm trap. No phat lewtz for me =( I did get a revival herb out of a shop on the way down, so well worth the trip
While this is never a good thing, people do realize they can still attack at full power, right? <snipsnip> becoming a riceball is just like becoming a very useless creature that you don't get to determine when you change back from.
Sadly incorrect, you lose the damage and defense bonuses from your sword and shield too, so you really do tend to take a raping.

I did that with my first Strengthening Jar & Extraction scroll as well. Thankfully I had both the jar and the scroll saved in the warehouse before I went in to extract the items, so when I screwed up and "lost" the extracted items I just powered off the DS straight away. In exchange for "corrupting" my save game data (I had nothing anyway), I was able to keep the game from saving the fact that I lost a bunch of powered up items.
It is rather stupid that items just fall on the ground straight away when you use an extraction scroll, though. That is not the expected behavior!

You are a fucking god. Ok I have 2 blank scrolls, what if I use a removal scroll on those hideous skull mage riceball rapists, and another on a cunt of an enemy later? I just have no idea how the enemies progress in this foul dungeon. Also how the hell do I send you a gift??
I was just dicking around with the storehouse jar, then I thought of something useful to name one of my blank scrolls. I put one in by accident. No problem, 2 spaces left. I walk into a shop, there's a field bandit changing everything to weeds, I murder him, the only things left are 7 arrows and an armband for $8000. It's an armband of sight, my first one ever. 2 spaces left, an armband of sight, a happiness armband, a mastersword+60 with golden, crit, razor, drain, bufu, anti-air and digging, or my armour ward+49 with gold, half hunger and thievery.
Armband of Sight for definite, those things are fucking awesome. Flip a coin for the sword or shield... although I'd put the sword just ahead, bufu is pretty great. Go with whichever would be more of a pain to replace I guess.
Whenever I start to run out of backup gear, I tend to grab my precious armband of sight and run up and down between mountaintop and cryptic rock looking for vaults of cash, then spend it on melding jars. Once I've got some reasonable gear together I'll run either table mountain for weapon/shield melds or the ceremonial cave for armbands.
Once you can bufu stuff, cell armour meat is fantastic for getting hold of melds and armbands, as is thiefwalrus meat. Also you can farm stream village shop by leaving the town then using a mecharoid meat, making traps until you get a pitfall, then dropping back to the village. The floor before stream village and the 2 after all have mecharoids to get the meat off, so you can repeat the trick until you run out of money/walrus jars
AHH THIS GAME IS AWESOME! It's so tense. I keep running into great hall monster houses, but with this bufu and armband of sight, I currently have about 10 air/wraith devil meats. I just found another storehouse jar(5) and a pitcher's armband. I feel so safe now. I may have to just run this one as far as I can go...
What is it with me and levelled up tanks in Kitchen God?
So for those who enjoyed the challenge of rescuing me from level 21 of Kitchen God how about this level 24 attempt (not the same run as the last, this run is splendiferously good. I mean truly fantastic up until my gigantic mess-up, I hadn't been in the remotest danger until I met my arch nemesis, a tank!).
It was a case of classic over-confidence and screaming stupidity, travelling down a corridor as a not particularly good monster I run into a monster + tank combo. The tank fires and levels up and damages me. I revert, get doubled fired by the now angry red tank. Then I casually reach into my pack and swing the one Bufu staff that I knew, that i knew had no charges in it rather than either of the other two staffs that I had which were untouched.
I understand floor 24 is a tough ask of anyone but this thread has so far been a goldmine of awesome and win.
It doesn't need to be turned on, once you've posted a rescue you can do whatever you like. I'd be fairly confident you're not going to beat the Tainted Path with that gear without some serious luck and skill
Against your advice, I said to myself "fuck it, might as well go as deep as I can. If I lose my stuff, I've still got this warehouse jar". Then I found another warehouse jar(5), and another sight armband.
I slowly pushed through it all the way to the end, slowed and confused the final boss, used a herb of victory and raped her against a wall. Bufu knife mod is really the deciding factor, I had about 10 of the highest level air devil meats, and was gaining ark dragon meat faster than I could use them. If ever there was a problem, I'd just air devil the entire floor. Got unlucky with some grey slimes ruining a few of my gear mods, but the cell armour weapon thieving netted me some really good stuff. I had $100,000 by the end, and got some good shops with melding jars etc.
Now I have a kabra +70 with about 10 mods, I've remade most of my armour ward, and added spikes and bomb defense.
All hail bufu knife mod. You don't even have to worry about food anymore with bufu. It's amazing. I'm gonna rescue a few people before I start another serious dungeon run.

There's an awesome dude who posted just before you who's in need of a deep Kitchen God rescue. Hint, hint. :P
I hate to be a pain, but can someone really try my rescue? I haven't played since I died, and I know that there's not way I'll ever get lucky enough to find all those items in one run again. The rescue's not hard I promise.

Ouch, you are a bold one to wait this long on a rescue. Since this can't be a case of needing to get some valuable equipment back I'd strongly advise you just start a new run. Did you use up a lot of herbs and effort pre-buffing this guy before you entered?

Damn, it's good to be wrong sometimes =D
I've died around level 70 most runs even with a completely maxed and melded firebrand and armour ward, victory herbs, 99 charge bufu and postpone staves, so I wasn't expecting you to kill that bitch! Congrats!
How'd you deal with those fucking skull mages? Especially the ones in the great halls on 60, 70 and 80.

My latest death was only yesterday but yes, there was a lot of pre buffing and I have picked up a lot of good shields due to some well consumed Cell Armour meat. And I'm on level frigging 24, Naoki could be on the very next floor! I've got gobs of good gear and meat. I can do this! As long as some finds my still warm corpse first
Generally with kitchen god/final puzzle/scroll cave rescues, it'd take the same amount of time to do a rescue as it would to get back to that point yourself.
Unless you've done a massive amount of pre-levelling in town with n'dubas, walrus jars, meat, etc, it's not really worthwhile to rescue from the no-gear dungeons.
Because of this thread, I bought Shiren. Furthest I have made it is floor 27, but I have a good feeling about this next run... (I only had +3 katana and bronzeward... +14 mastersword and +8 iron shield this time, and I'm only JUST entering table. )
Question: To level my sword and shield up, I enter/exit the first town with the shop and buy the scrolls when they pop up. Cheap? Yeah, maybe... but it works. :P I use the scrolls because they only cost 800, and you can get a +3 sometimes if you are lucky.
Why would anyone ever use the blacksmith? Can he get 'lucky' times too? I dont see why you'd pay 1k when you can get the same (or better) for just 800? :?
Oh, and for the story of my 27F death? I stepped on a rice trap, took another step and stepped on a large mine trap... a riceball with 1hp doesn't do a lot of good against a dragon (or whatever it was that killed me. )
I imagine I'll be posting up a rescue soon after my next attempt at Table. :P
Sleep trap on first step into a room on floor 18... oh, hello chainheads! Whats that? I don't wake up when beaten repeatedly with a ball of iron? Oh... I died...
Anyway, this is my best set of gear and items so far. I don't know what I can give for a reward... plating scroll? It's in my warehouse but I can probably toss it your way if I get back to the town.

Hint, hint. :P

I imagine I'll be posting up a rescue soon after my next attempt at Table. :P
Ah, didn't realize the blacksmith could do +3; I haven't had that happen yet.
About to embark on a 1.5hr transit ride home, and a death will probably happen there... here's hoping I can beat table.
