RULES:
This tournament will be a more or less friendly Round Robin set-up. All stages will be on, and every item set to Medium frequency. Before March 23rd, you need to PM me with two characters. These are the only two characters that you'll be allowed to use for the duration of the tournament, in both Singles and Doubles play.

When a round begins, you'll have 24 hours to get into contact with your opponent and have your match. You'll need to take care of friend codes. You might win your match, but you'll make everyone hate you quite a bit, and odds are you'll have a much harder time finding someone here to play with in the future.

For fun of course. There is no prize here. This is meant to simply be a social activity, and a way to get to know your fellow smashers.

On a final note. This is my tournament. If you have a problem with any part of it, you are more than welcome to make your own tournament. I have my reasons for my rule-set, which you are more than welcome to inquire about. If you do see some sort of easily exploitable rule, please let me know, so I can attempt to make this tournament as fun as possible.

How:
There will be no restriction of tactics or tricks. As this is a social event, the idea is to find someone with your playstyle and preferences. As this is a 4man FFA most 1v1 "tricks" probably wont work anyway.

Upon finishing a match, I'll be trusting the players to provide me with the correct scoring. We're all adults here, and I feel should be trusted as such. Besides, if anyone finds out your cheating, you'll probably never play another tourney here anyway. :P

If you just press grab without a direction, you'll drop the trophy stand instead of throwing it. You'll have to touch it after a while so it doesn't disappear though.

The Wikipedia entry for Sakurai makes it sound as if he developed the majority of the game by himself. How true is that?

None of which is especially quick, since a Classic mode runthrough is usually 15-20 minutes or so.

So I've been out of town for a week. But before I left, my wife had gotten a pre release copy of the game (she works at video rental store) and I could not get it (or any of the 6 copies of the game) to work. I know there was atleast one other individual who had the same problem.

Was/Is there a fix action for this? I'm at the airport now and want to pick up Brawl as soon as I get back in town.

i really want to unlock falco since i think i will like him. i had beat the 100 man brawl with Ike and his amazing up-a but i ended up losing to falco. it made me cry a little. I haven't been able to beat the 100 man since.

If you do with friends, you can enter 2/3 players on the same Wii, so just find 1-2 people on PA (or from wherever you find your persons) to fight and that oughta do it.

Yes. Up to three people can play online on the same Wii. Just create a room and have your friend(s) press start to join in.

You can only do this when playing With Friends.

EDIT: Rorus is right, but to clarify, I believe it has to be your room. You can't join someone else's room and have more than one player on your box.

Ya, I'm not a fan of that either. I had a with anyone match earlier that ended up with 4 snakes, and his alt costumes aren't the most distinguishable, and all the explosions blocking the view of everything made it quite difficult.

Also this happened to me as well, just keep it up, you will unlock most characters eventually.

I think at that point all I had gotten was Marth, who you may not have noticed getting since it only takes 10 brawls to unlock otherwise. You get a fair bunch around 45-55% I think.

I only did it the one time, and it was on purpose. I basically wanted to beat TSR over the head with his own main. I knew he was going to pick Sonic every time before we even had the first match, and after a 3-life comeback win and a 7-2 crushing (remember I do 7 stock) in which I did all four of my taunts consecutively ('Do you want it?' 'Do you need it?' 'Let me hear it!' 'LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!'), I basically wanted to do the most crushing kind of taunt I could think of.

My 7-1 win looks to have sent the message. After Spawn, then Bulba showed up, he spent the rest of his matches beating the everloving shit out of me.

I believe that there are three stage builder unlocks:

Create 5 stages
Create 15 stages
Brawl on custom stages 10 times
