Oh, okay, thanks. My brother accidentally wiped over my SSE file (argh) so at least I get to start it over right this time.

So, for those of you who've played international games, how's the lag? I'll probably still pick it up but most of my friends are across the ocean in either Aus or UK.

    QUESTION

In order to add on a Brawl Friend code, do you also have to have the user listed in your Wii code?

    Same question for Mario Strikers.

    or has it succeeded?

Unrelated: What is the problem with Wavebirds and the online? Is there a specific channel that should be used to eliminate annoying input lag?

Does anyone else think we need to split this into a discussion thread and a Game On thread next iteration? It sort of seems like questions about gameplay are being drowned out by matches being arranged and postgame chatter.

Pretty kind. There aren't any button combinations that you need to enter to do attacks. All normal attacks are done through pressing the A button and a direction on the stick, all special attacks are done by pressing B and a direction on the stick, and grabbing (which you can pretty much ignore if you're a beginner) is done through another button. There isn't a special bar or any sort of mechanic like that, pretty every attack can be executed immediately. Learning how a character works is obviously very helpful, but until then, you can flail around with attacks with some success.

I'm not sure if the online scene was ever healthy. Online is pretty laggy, and random battles won't let you see the names of opponents, or whether they're even human (if someone drops out, they're silently replaced by a bot).

I can hold my own in SFIV, so the difficulty wasn't really a concern. However, I don't have many friends who have a Wii, and those that do don't really like fighting games. That's why I was wondering how the online component is.

    $50 for a game where I fight the CPU, I don't know.

If you ask around here you can usually find someone to play with, still. And Allisbrawl was pretty healthy last time I checked.

There are a lot more hoops to jump through than most games, but you can still find people to play with online.

This game is all about being in the room with other people. You might not have many Wii owning friends, but get 4 GC pads and invite everyone over and this game will shine regardless of the system they own or if they enjoy fighting games.
