I didn't use to think wireless was a big deal for mice but I decided to splurge on an MX1000 that was on sale and now I don't think I can go back to wired. Damn fine mouse.

Is there a way to fix that, 'cause I would love to go back to using it. Now I'm rolling a Sidewinder but it feels like a brick. A brick covered in hate.
I like my Razer Diamondback. Has a good left and right hand design. Superb tracking, and the mousewheel has the nice balance between easy of rolling and not worrying about rolling while depressing. But then there's the one glaring factor with mine that the right mouse button is nearly dead. I can only press it in a certain spot for it to register.
The perfect nerf for them would be complete removal from the game. And anyone who whines about it/speaks of their ever existing gets launched via catapult.

Damn I've missed this game. I went to Boston and NYC for spring break and I haven't played in what feels like ages. I'll be home tomorrow though so I hope there is a full server when I get there.
Seriously it's what Marty and I use, and Rakuen used an even shittier version until he got his razer thing. This mouse is fantastic. I have had to buy a replacement once in ten years* and it's comfy as fuck.
*Edit: And I have a destructive habit of twizzling the crap out of the mousewheel.
I just replaced this mouse with the MS Sidewinder mouse. Still getting used to the feel and sensitivity of it, but the adjustable feet are great, and it fits my hand like a glove. But then, I'm an MS peripheral whore, I even preferred the old xbox brick controller. Vertical side buttons ftw and it lights up like it's a demon.
I really like my mx510 too, but it's showing wear. The black around the logitec logo is almost gone, there's a noticeable patch where my thumb normally rests in that groove, and one of the skates completely disintegrated recently. Anybody know of a good source for replacement skates?
I keep forgetting to ask, what's with the non-existant 'waiting for players' time on Job's server lately. I don't like that
Yeah, that pretty much sucks. Makes the first round a throwaway round half the time, because it largely comes down to what class the first few people into the round pick how the rest plays out.

Class wise I've been focusing on soldier (just b/c everyone seems to say that's what beginners should do) or whatever makes me the most useful to everyone else. Medic has been fun, and the little bit of engineering I did was also neat. Pyro looks interesting, but I'm worried I'd misplay it and be as useful as the retards I've been seeing around the public servers.
This is just a great game, and it's the first FPS I've really gotten into since UT back in who the hell knows when. Can't wait to have time to play it more.

Don't play on pubs that is babies, play on the PA servers. Just be warned you never know what could be happening on the West Server everything from FF on to everyone running around in noclip mode.
To the server admins: Have any of you ever considered recording demos of the games or having a SourceTV server? 'Cause I think that would be kinda neat.
Oh mouses, huh? I own 2 518's and a 510. I play games with the 518 and use the 510 on my other computer as well as my laptop. I'll probably buy one more 518 and keep it around just in case, because they are getting hard to find. I can never use another mouse design ever again.

So I've been getting this off and on all night trying to join Jon's server. I get in the queue to auto join, I start to load then it cancels and says I can't join because of slot reservation. This past time I noticed that HimsA was the one who must have just joined. Does he have a reserved slot?

Yes, many times. The problems -
Valve still hasn't fixed the many bugs surrounding SourceTV and not taking a server slot
Demos are teh hueg. Recording constant demos would not make us friends with our hosts. (This may change, as I may start self hosting in a month or two)
SourceTV takes bandwidth. A large number of people connected would also likely create an unfriendly environment.

I am unaware of any slot reservation problem. They are working fine as far as I know, and would not even be used during the tournament.
The waiting for players is a moot point since the server would be in tournament mode anyways and would need a ready signal to start gameplay.
Donate or order a gameserver and help out!
