My telivision will not display a pc input.-Fixed

I just purchased a (samsung) television that I was assured would display a
pc signal, but after hooking it up (and it seems pretty straightforward)
all that is displayed is 'Unsupported Format'.
After RTFM, nothing about this is mentioned.
Anyone know what's wrong?
edit: After Re-RTFM, the problem is fixed.
