I'm getting the weirdest errors. My DVD drive reads the disc fine, the auto run menu pops up and everything. I click on single player and get 'please insert the correct disc' error. I click on multiplayer and it loads fine, if I try and switch to single player from the multiplayer menu it gives the disc error again.

I've never had a disk read error. My friend has though.
Prestige mode is pointless. It doesn't even have anything to do with how good you are.
The M60 with ACOG and increased damage is amazing. It's probably the only gun that can snipe mid-range (1-2 shots at a time) and take down a helicopter without reloading once.

I blame Assassin's Creed for my new knifing fetish.
Playing with a killcam on, dropping a stun grenade down on a squad, jumping down from the roof and stabbing them in the head.
That always seems to get the "HOLY SHITS" popping and people start acting scared.
Gone is Old School Free-for-all and the Hardcore modes are being condensed into one grouping.
Motherfucker. So now I have to play search and destroy if I want to play hardcore tdm?

Microsoft filters clan tag + gamertag submissions. I guess [SE]HoodieThirteen means something nasty in another language? Seems like a false positive to me but I dunno. You could try taking it up with Microsoft's Live support team but I'm not sure how much help they could be.

If I had had a PC that could have run CoD4 at the time the game came out, I would have probably gotten it for the PC but then I never would have met and played with all these wonderful people.
Now that I have a PC that can run it, I don't really feel like buying CoD4 again. It doesn't really have anything on the PC over the 360 and matchmaking suits me just fine even though I have absolutely nothing against server lists.
Ditto pretty much. I like the PC for gaming lots, but the 360 is getting a lot of the releases I care about, and without the inevitably mediocre graphics that my crap iMac would provide. If I build a better one later, then I'll probably stick to PC for a while.
Actually though, the big difference is that the 360 does not have the internet. The internet's clarion call has caused me to waste hours that I was planning on wasting on games.
It's not yet known if one platform will get the DLC before the other, but we did learn that there are currently no plans to bring the content to the PC.
So I guess this is sort of semi offical? We get unranked custom maps and maybe someday those contest maps and 360/PS3 users get new offical maps including a remake of one of the best CoD maps ever. Sucks hardcore. I was really looking forward to some Chinatown action.
I'd almost be tempted to pick up the 360 version as much as I have played the PC one... almost. :x

This is weak stuff. I mean, I would understand 100% if they wanted to do an expansion pack that we pay for, but "no plans?"
a lot of the custom maps out there are total garbage and seriously look like they're from Half-Life 1. Theres a remake of Strike at Karkand from Battlefield 2 that is like 5 times the size of a regular COD4 map and is fucking terrible looking.

Remember when everyone on the consoles felt the exact same way because we didn't get a patch until last month despite a multitude of issues? Village and Village Night are conversions of the single player map and are fucking awsome. IW needs to make these goddamn official maps.
