My current Xbox Live gold account was being paid for with a credit card that is no longer valid. So I need to edit my payment information to change credit cards so I can play Live again. The problem is you can't access the "Account Management" option if you arn't signed in to Xbox Live. And you can't sign into Xbox Live if you account is no longer being paid for.
So, how do I change payment types/options if I can't sign on to Xbox Live?
When I click on "Connect to Xbox Live" the 360 tells me "Your account has been suspended due to a problem with your payment option. Please use a diffrent payment option or update your current information in Account Management" and I click the "Update Profile" option and get bounced straight back to the main blade section and try to log-in again.
Yeah, I pretty-much had this problem recently. My account ran out and I had to renew it, but it was trying to auto-charge and expired card. I figured I'd use this time to track down a cheaper pre-paid card. When I eventually did so (I did wait far too long, big mistake, I found I had a message from Microsoft saying my account had been suspended. From there, I couldn't sign into Live to get into my Account Details to put in the card. Catch-22.
In the end, I called customer support, the guy spoke to his supervisor and they had to charge my card for a year's subscription, then cancel/refund it to give me a Silver account, from which I could use the prepaid card.
Ultimately I don't think I acually saved any money, but hey.
