MÖTLEY CRÜE has set a July 8, 2008 release date for its ninth studio album, titled The Dirt, according to sources close to the band. The first single, "The Saints of Los Angeles" will arrive at radio stations April 15, 2008.
Im curious if HMX will divulge what the turnaround time on this was. This HAD to be one of those crazy last second things they talk about - and the deal in place to get them the master tracks BEFORE the album comes out to the public?
I'm guessing Harmonix scrambled pretty heavily to get a debut single out before April 24th, so they wouldn't be beaten to that particular accomplishment by GH3.

I'd say that's a good reason.
Wow, getting a single on the same day as radio? That's pretty frickin' rad. Shows how powerful Rock Band has become in the world of music.
Yeah, I'm picking up Saints of Los Angeles too tomorrow. Someone posted that you could use something involving the Zune to buy funbux in smaller quantities. What was that?
I'm not a big Motley Crue fan, but its a pretty decent song. For a buck, sure, I'll grab it. I think tomorrow I'll be getting all 4 songs, and finally getting the Boston pack too.
Well this was certainly unexpected. I thought Metallica was going to end up being the first band to do this, but the Crue takes it out of nowhere. Pretty cool song really...worth a buck for sure.
Harmonix, let no one ever say that you aren't trying...
Stupid cough isn't totally cured yet. After repeated attempts to gold star the remaining songs that needed it, I ended up giving up and just watching this dude's feed. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ibiteprettyhard The dude who 100%ed The Perfect Drug.
You can use Zune points cards (usually in the music section of stores) on the Xbox, since it's MSPoints on both systems.
Convenient!
Does this mean my zune points card that came with my zune that I got as a christmas present that I never use will work for MSpoints?
Oh, joy of joys
Yep.
It even states that it can be used on Xbox Live Marketplace on the back.
The great thing is, at the big stores like Wal Mart and such the MSpoint cards are constantly cleared out, but there's plenty of Zune points cards..
Man I totally splurged. With that 2000 points card I got with my Zune, I got the grateful dead pack, the police pack, the harmonix OXM song pack, song with a mission (I dont know why.), blink182 song for my siblings, working man, and with the leftovers plus what I already had im going to get all 4 songs tomorrow. Oh yay.
Gotta say, I'm definitely surprised by how good the Grateful songs are. So fun to play, China Cat Sunflower is particularly hilarious.
Woooooooooooooooo finally gold starred something on Expert Drums! It was only Wanted, but hey, one is better than none right?
All of you with EL kits with wonky yellow/blue pads - the answer, my friends, is to rubber-band your stick heads. My yellow pad still drops a hit every now and then, but the ratio is now more like 1/200 instead of 1/20 like before.
So I went back through the setlist with renewed vigor and brought many of my scores way the fuck up, and earning the before-mentioned gold star in the process.
Oh and Unbreakable : finally seen Sweeney Todd, eh? 8-)
Thanks for the advice guys, I guess I won't get hung up on it anymore and just try em every so often.
I've often found the best way to get better at some songs is to play other songs a lot. Without trying you'll develop the skills you need to make your roadblocks seem easy. This worked for me on RttH among others.
Message in a Bottle is pretty much the same as GH2 on guitar, except with that one insane hard part at the end taken out. It is, however, completely awesome on drums as expected.
bought Simple Man and had the points left over, so bought the Crue song too.
Sweet jesus, Simple Man is one of those endurance songs. If I hadn't been so tired I could have probably FC'd it on my first attempt. I at least 5-starred it.

I see what you did there.

Question for those that have played it...how does Simple Man end? It's a fade-out song normally, so did they rig up an abrupt ending to it, kinda like More Than a Feeling, or did they add on a big-rock ending?
Everyone interested in the Wii version of Rock Band should check out gametrailer's interview.
It seems that all 5 bonus songs are already downloadable content on the other versions. And that they're looking into adding online play and DLC after release (which might be true. Just look at the big addition to the other versions, the RB store)

[rolls_eyes]Yeah, I've heard that one before......If its going to be so easy to patch in DLC, then WHY DONT YOU JUST RELEASE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!?!?!?!?
If the 5 extra songs are part of the Boston DLC, then I might consider the Wii version.

They've said the only real hurdle was storage so it wouldn't surprise me if they could patch it in later. I'd be content with addon retail releases for $30ish with songs from 360/PS3 downloads that maybe could be swapped in at any time during gameplay.
I should add though I'm easy to please, the Wii version at least avoids me needing a 360/PS3! I'm actually content with the 5 bonus songs since one is the Oasis song I was pretty jealous of.

I'd say that's a good reason.
Seconded, I actually want to play this song on drums. Which is something since I can't drum worth crap.

I'm not particularly fond of either, but Motley Crue wins in a person-to-limb ratio.

Also, the Crue song actually sounds quite good, fun on all instruments I think. Plus, new single and only a dollar? More points bought'd.

I can't believe how good Harmonix has been to all of us.
Yep.

It's only a buck, and actually sounds pretty okay, so why not buy it? Simple MAn was gonna be the only purchase this week, but this is pretty nifty.

Hard Drums: Run to the Hills
Expert Drums: Epic
Expert Guitar: Green Grass and High Tides
Expert Vocals: Should I Stay or Should I Go.
I've gotten the 100% achievements for Guitar and Bass but haven't managed to do so for Drums or Vocals though.
Message in a Bottle is pretty much the same as GH2 on guitar, except with that one insane hard part at the end taken out.
I actually got the 100% vocal one by... humming Paranoid. Easy to do, entertaining and is kinda cool when you do it at a party.
Also, new songs are downloaded but I don't think I can play em til tonight.

No, that's a picture from the 80's. I doubt Vince Neil could fit in those clothes today.
Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst

And I should be on till at least noon est., so if anyone wants to jam, I'll play drums, or guitar/bass if I must.
Just friend me up and invite me.
