Valhalla? Spiritual sequel, but not a remake to Blood Gulch.
Goddamnit, I am not paying 10$ for two remakes and a spirtual sequel to Turf. I'm only buying this map if I have spare money, not going to go out of my way to save money for it.
I've fiddled a bit with the settings for Stormtroopers. I gave all the players motion detectors, but toyed with the settings a bit so that the stormtroopers have even better sensors. I also upped the damage resistance on the troopers.
But fucking Bungie has stupid shield-recharge settings. I really wanted to make it so that Vader's health/shields wouldn't come back up unless you used the Regenerator, but apparently that's too difficult for Bungie to code? In any case, the Regenerator has no effect on Vader, but his lackies can make use of it.
Also added some more starting points (so that no one has to explain to new people "ummmm... come get weapons."), a couple more respawn points per team, some special map flair (Wraiths that are impossible to get to but look neat, a ghost or two out of the way, and I think there's a Firebomb grenade fountain somewhere, but I might have taken it out), and an extra way around the choke-point in the middle. I could stick some shield doors there though...
So tonight I'm requesting some bitches get on and test it out through a few games.
I've also created a Last Resort map for Stormtrooper use (though the gametype is modified a bit because of the larger map size and vast difference in terrain). There are a couple mongeese (for use when the VIP is far from the shore), the requisite weapon caches, a fuck-ton of fusion cores situated around generator field, and a late-spawning Scorpion for use in turning around those south-bound games.
Sidewinder was the only map I wanted Bungie to remake and apparently they even fucked that up.
Im fine with them doing completely new maps from now on.
You haven't played it yet. You don't know that they've fucked it up.

Removing the tunnels from Sidewinder is like removing the bacon from a BLT.
It's the best fucking part.
Unless you take the LT and add meat to it (nerfed hornets), then it's tasty. Shut up I'm hungry.
