Is it possible to have shield doors lay flat? If it is I have an awesome idea for a sky garden type map.
Yes, hold them in place, and then while you are holding them there save the game, end the game, restart the game. It will now be hovering in whatever position you saved it in.
Also, we need at least one more team for the CTF Pro tournament to run.
I found a faster but more complicated way, involves a bridge 2 double boxes a man cannon and of course a shield door.
Bad news is that you can't drive on shield doors you just bounce off em
I managed to headshot a guy to death while he was in a Hornet with my BR last night. The most satisfying part was when three puny bullets made the big flying machine explode into pieces and crash to the ground.
Whats the best angle to shoot a hornet at? like straight on or from the side. For some reason I thought when I first saw them that the glass was open at the side as I saw someone in on get sniped at a side angle but I don't really know now. Just wondering for future encounters
Straight on is the best by far. It's not a 4 shot by any means though - it took me 6-7. If he wasn't shooting at another guy, I wouldn't have been able to kill him in time. The last shot was almost from the side though - but the glass is jagged there, so it would be really hard to line up the shot consistently. There are a few times I've tried using the sniper rifle to shoot the guy out from the side but it never seems to work even if the reticle has the dot in it and his head is lined right up, which should mean it's a headshot.
Ok I guess when the pilot was sniped that one time he must of already been damaged, thanks for the advice I guess I won't go out of my to kill on now :P
Its definitely not a practical approach.. the Hornet just destroys shit unless you have a laser, or the guy is an idiot and flies it up next to a wall so you can hit with the wraith, rockets, or a brute shot

Then I sticky the bastard, I've even been able to get a few sticks while there still moving. I just shoot them, get them to strafe and toss in the direction there moving as there not to agile

Even the AR does a decent job, if you can get your whole team to spray bullets at it. I've sent many a hornet fleeing for the hills with the AR.
It's probably been mentioned (many times) but what other Halo maps would you like to see remade? Or reimagined?
For the sake of CTF Pro I'd want Prisoner and Damnation. Chiron TL 34 is my number one favorite Halo map of all time though. I have been wishing since before launch.

I don't trust them to bring back Hang Em High without making BR starts the default therefore breaking it (argh)
Also I'd like to see the concept of Backwash come back. I don't neccarily care if they actually bring back the map itself, but I'd like another limited-visibility map like that again.

Maybe some charred corpses strung about for good measure...
One issue I would like fixed though would be the awful god damn perch that you could spawn into but never climb into. Maybe make that a catwalk with a sniper rifle on it accessible by portal like the highest part in Damnation.
Call it Termination. C'mon Bungie. Get cracking.
If they remade terminal I could see them leaving that spawn-only room in, the Pit has one on each side as it is.

i dont think many people don't realize that the warthog turret while massacre the hornet. many times a hornet will be killing everyone spawning at the base and on the sniper ridge while there is two perfectly good warthogs parked by the base, but everyone is too busy trying to br or stick the hornet from a pretty ridiculous distance
People do like to lose their head when a vehicle is in the area, and it appears to be impossible to prevent it.
Avalanche is uniquely suited to dealing with the hornet due to the teleporter and proximity to the turret. Get a hornet sitting over the man cannon, and he'll be dead before he can react to someone shooting him up the pooper.

Someone said something awesome about terminal. They need to remake it. Everything scorched from being glassed(Blasted?) in halo 3. Even the train should be scorched/on fire. And at night.

I've yet to play a round with randoms there where my teammates don't squander the Warthogs immediately.. driving them to rocks, for instance, and then leaving them there, trying to drive them through the middle (surefire way to get stickied multiple times), driving them without gunners (something that seems to be ten times more common on Avalanche than any other level) etc.
That said I'm usually one of the guys on sniper ridge getting massacred trying to get my precious rifle out of there and to the teleporter side

NO THIS IS NOT HBO. (also, all DLC in Halo 2 took place after campaign). They could do it in the same setting.
Are there hornets actually on some of these maps now? Because those vehicles are ridiculously overpowered. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that can stop a hornet, except maybe a rocket pack. They just float around and kill you with that horrible chain gun, and if you grab a vehicle, tough luck because you're fucked as soon as those homing rockets hit you.
Oh man. This new map I am working on is so awesome. So awesome. I am designing it for CTF but when it is finished I would appreciate it if some of you guys would test it out in some slayer action. Then maybe give me some feedback on what would make it better for slayer.

I was playing a round last night when it disconnected, did the whole "connect to new host" thing, and when it came to everyone had reset back to the base. I ran over to the other side, and somehow these guys had a Wraith with no turret on it that was about five times faster than normal. I didn't think to check and see if ours was the same way. I'll take a pic when I get home tonight.

It's a known glitch.
If a vehicle spawns (say in forge, but a respawning vehicle could also work) right as a host drops out, It will be without a turret. It works on Wraiths, Scorpions, and Warthogs.
I loved the glitch in Halo 2 when you set it so maps didn't reset in rounds - if you sat in a wraith as the round ended, when it restarted the gun would still be up. When you would get back in you just jumped through a closed door.
doing this also allowed you to easily fly an open banshee.
So like, Sky Garden's kinda finished, there's not nearly as much as I want but Standoff doesn't have walls just open double boxes and fence boxes, I should be getting the map pack this weekend, if I have to I'll remake it in Avalanche or one of the others.
Well on say Foundry, I spawned behind like two feet behind an enemy at least twice in a round. And there's the countless Spawn and BR to the head. If you're team is dying more than the other, it's just gonna snowball.

Default foundry is a Fuster Cluck of a map. The need to run a contest for the best foundry map to get some quality in there.
Gah! SWAT! Now I'll have to play this weekend for sure. I'm hunting with my dad in the mornings, until we get something. Evenings was supposed to be for rest, but now SWAT... *sigh*
