I dare a newcomer to Halo to indentify which one is Guardian and which one is Blackout, without looking at the filenames

Not gonna happen in this thread since none of us are "newcomers".
It is pretty silly how identically the maps end up playing. Only significant differences is most center-map dying on Blackout is in the under-glass spot, and on Guardian it's top center. Same with the gold lift, it's the analog to the suicide room but they are swapped vertically.
Note that I just cheated and flipped Guardian vertically.
I just like how when you do that, the right half of the maps match perfectly.

Forget 25-30 min matches. I want some epic, flag at home to score, hour + avalanche matches! Flag at home to score opens up so many fun scenarios. You are about to score, and an enemy picks up your flag... do you chase him down and have a flag battle? or go hide? Where do you go wait for your flag to be returned? I'd go hide in the little crack between the main mancannon into the base (everyone would expect you to hide in the teleporter area).
They would have to lower the time it takes to return a flag though... it's very hard to return your flag once it's past halfway with the fast respawns. Hell, I would even go for a "classic" ctf mode. Flag at home to score, touch flag to return it to base.
CTF Pro on Avalanche was really pretty fun. I took out most of the vehicles, except one mongoose and one warthog on each side. The assaults on the base are pretty fun. My buddy Andy had some pretty creative defensive tactics against that mancannon. It is awesome throwing grenades into the mancannon to scare off defenders before you go, only to have them set the whole platform on fire with an incendiary grenade just before you land. Also I switched the teleporters to work like Sidewinder.
The man cannons definately make the map though. I can't say I agree with Firewulff on not recognizing Sidewinder. I think it would be very difficult to disguise. The giant horseshoe is really pretty tell-tale.
Unfortunately, turning on touch return doesnt work in Halo 3 because touch return is broken as hell. It features the same radius as timed return...so if you come within 20-25 feet of the flag through a wall it will return it. I really didn't have a choice put to add on a timed return for CTF Pro, but I was surprised out how much I started to like timed return. It definately has a different feel to it but it has plenty of its own merits.
played some SWAT with the vile masses today and now I only need 10 more exp until 1st Lt. and I'll save that for later with you guys, so my accomplishment will go noticed by those that matter.
In other news, next time SWAT's a playlist try a little harder on the spawns, bungie.
I killed three people, walked into the next room and all three respawned in the corridor to my left and killed me.
Not that you only play on heroic maps, but that you only need the heroic map pack to play swat (don't need legendary)
But I thought you had to have Legendary to play SWAT.

Good. The only reason I bought the maps was because of SWAT, and if it didn't require the new maps I would be very mad and I would possibly yell for a refund I can't get.
What's the etiquette when your entire team quits like a bunch of assholes leaving you to face a team of five on your own? Play out the round and go down swinging, or quit and save them the bother of waiting ten minutes or shooting your stubborn ass fifty times?

if there's a lot of time left, just leave, in objective just try to get points if you can, if they have around 10 kills to win just go afk for a little.

If it's slayer, quit out so everyone can get back to having fun again. The only reason to stay would be if it were something like 2v1, where you have a good chance and some of their team has already quit as well, but if you're the lone wolf in a 4v1 game, just quit out. You have a major advantage when there are four times as many targets and less people for them to kill, if you're a competent player this is very unfair to the other team.
In objectives though, I think anything goes. Your chances of winning are really, really slim - even more so if its CTF - but anything can happen.
I used to just go AFK for whatever, or just suicide rush them until the end of the game. I don't know, I just have an aversion to quitting. I had like 6 total legitimate quits over my Halo 2 playtime.
but these days I only play Halo with a TBK party, so I run into this situation a lot less.

Right now as I type this, I am in tight (and I mean fucking tight) lulu-lemon style yoga pants, and sweat shirt. Eyeliner, lipstick, and glitter.
Okay si im on now...been doing pretty god don't think ive had a game where my spread is lower then +10 and Im averaging +20 spread...but god have I had some noob teams....some of you guys get on

So a friend told me to unplug everything and let it sit for a half hour. Going to give it a shot. Probably won't work though.

"Night of the Living Dead" (Named Zombie Classic for certain reasons) is almost done, needs testing.
Do you stay the night in the house or risk taking the "truck" to safer pastures?
Zombies have a very few ways of getting inside (2 in fact, and one's hard to do) which is the point, since morons will most likely run outside for kills anyway.

Edit- Oh yea, it's fairly faithful to the movie, there's the backdoor, the roof (though I don't think you can start with flamer nades ) The truck, hell even the basement. It's been Haloized of course, 2 minigun turrets and the movie didn't have flying zombies with swords.
