Also fuck the fact that evidently I can't dodge Goellom or whatever it's called anymore. I beat him without taking a single hit earlier today, and now he keeps cranking me up to 90% and blasting me off the screen. Fuck.
Duon is the worst pre-Taboo boss IMO.
The two Ridley's are easy enough and the hands/Petey are a joke (barring Master's obnoxious instant-flick and hard-to-dodge lawl50% twirly hand). Porky and Rayquaza aren't bad either.
Seriously it's like I can own face until Duon and then that's it for me. I know about leading his missiles into him but still. Galleom is not too bad but has some ridiculously powerful moves (including an upper-cut that nearly OHKOs light characters).
gg to those who i actually played. Tel, Ron, and someone else , i tried adding the last two via the in game friend request but i don't think it went through.
i had to run away a couple of times since my cat finally figured out that we have a dog door she can get out of.
ggs all. Man it is frustrating in this game when so many times I want to do a tilt move yet the character does a smash move. SO MANY TIMES. I never had this problem in Melee. Also teching online is virtually impossible, but that is the nature of the delay.
Okay, so I've got Brawl waiting for me at home when I return Friday. I've been thinking about what I'm going to do, and there's really only one answer: a marathon of the entire SSE. Is that feasible? I guess what I'm really asking is how long is SSE from start to finish your first time through? I know it's different for everyone, but could I get a ballpark estimate? I'll probably be playing it on Easy or Medium, as I was never great at Melee. Is there any reason to play it on the harder difficulty aside from trophies? Last but not least, if it lasts more than 8 or so hours first time through, are there some protips that might speed up my victory?

It'll take about 6-8 hours on normal.
Pretty much that, presuming you aren't backtracking for trophies and completion's sake etc. I belong to a small percentage of people who had a really hard time with the final boss, which may add another hour. Other than that, on normal it's a cakewalk that unlocks most of your characters and earns you some excellent coinage. I recommend it because it's the fastest way to get a number of unlockables- and as soon as you've beaten it,
Wolf, Jigglypuff and Toon Link are right at your fingertips. Ask gamefaqs about that.
Also: has anyone beaten the final co-op challenge (one life, every character)? My girlfriend and I were picking away at it for hours the other day and could only get to the last 8 or so before someone (usually Ganondorf) kicked us into the sunset. Any tips?
I've played seamlessly with people from ENGLAND, I live in V.A. So really, all that matters is how much the other person/people don't suck at setting up their connections.
edit: And I'd play with ya but I've got stuff to do before sleep.

Duon is a pain, his moves are really hard to dodge at close range and he doesn't give you much time inbetween to attack. You pretty much just have to get in and attack the very moment it's safe and then dash back to range again to dodge the next one. Playing with Charizard I couldn't make it over him in time when he charged across the stage, but I found that if you just shield he'll break it and then hit you again for only like 9%.
Man, I need to get new friends. A buddy of mine decided to use Kirby and I'm notorious around where I live for hating the pink ball of devil's magic with a passion. When we would all get together to play Melee, someone would always pick Kirby and their main tactic would be to just stand at the edge and inhale to try to get off a Kirbicide. After being killed by it so many times in Melee, I came into Brawl vowing never to play as Kirby (unless mandatory to unlock something or in story mode) and to never get Kirbicided again. So far I've fulfilled this but I just got out of a match with my friend where all he did was stand at the edge and suck. I was using Ike so I didn't have the benefit of projectiles and I didn't want to get close to him and risk getting inhaled so I waited in the center of the stage for him to stop and come over to actually fight. Well time passed and all he did was inhale and occasionally unleash that incessant "HIIIIII!!!!" taunt over and over again. He never once made an effort to do anything else. Eventually, I just called in no contest and turned my game off. Is that cool to do now or he just the only one?

For players without as much experience with the game, there's just a general tendency to spam a move over and over I think. I've dealt with up B happy Links, grab happy Links, and an Ike that only ever does forward B or up B normally among my friends. It's the kind of thing you can deal with often, but it is annoying and sometimes more effective than it really has any right to be on some stages against some characters (ie, the aforementioned Ike on Final Destination when you use Meta Knight).

I saw it once in a spectator viewing. He actually managed to pull a couple off.
I managed to kill a Ganondorf with it once, but characters who are actually potentially at risk seem pretty limited.

As for the overall tactic of refusing to come out, I would have punched him, at some point, for it.

...an Ike that only ever does forward B or up B...
That's odd, because as far as I'm concerned, Ike's neutral B (Eruption) is his bread 'n butter move.
As for Kirbycides, I've heard people say that they don't exist in this game, but that just ain't true. They can be done if you don't try to do it the Melee way. What you have to do is turn away from the edge before jumping off and then spit the opponent under the stage. It won't work on the likes of Pit or other multi-jump recovery beasts, but for many characters it's an easy kill.
Of course, that doesn't stop you from just using projectile attacks, chucking items, or using D-Air or cross-up attacks to mess up an edge-sucking Kirby.
Honestly, I can't think of many attacks in this game that can't be countered if the opponent really decides to spam them. It's when they spam a projectile attack and then spam a close-range attack when you get near that bugs me. Not that I can't handle it, but it's annoying.
I'm on the west, though I just played with Dirty and he's on the east. The match was almost without lag. I've added you though, so my code's in my sig.
I play with Kirby, and I've never resorted to Kirbicide. I think I recall hearing about it, but I've never been on the negative side of somebody doing it. To me, it seems like an asshole thing to do. I have been Bowsicided before, where somebody playing as Bowser grabbed me, and did the move where he jumps back and piledrives you into the ground. Problem was, we were at the edge, and I was piledriven into oblivion.
It seems like people who aren't as good at the game tend to pick characters that have annoying habits. Back when my friends and I used to play, one of them would pick Mario and just run away from any fights. Then he'd sit across the level and toss fireballs at the group until they got pissed and went after him. I think there used to be a exploitable spot on Sector Z where he could sit at the base of the wing and toss fireballs at the tip. Anyone who tried to get up couldn't because they'd get hit by the fire and then fall back down.

Do any of you guys know anywhere where there is a comprehensive list of all the music in Brawl? The one on the Dojo doesn't have any of the secret songs and doesn't list composers if they're not remixes, so I was wondering if there was anywhere that has both of those things aswell...?

Man, that sucks. Assuming he was there physically, I would have just punched him, unplugged his controller, or such.
However, my advice would be to come from above, charging an Eruption (Ike's Normal . It has a wide AOE, so even if he tries to fly up and eat you, just release it and it will knock him away. Then just jump back and wait for him to make himself a target again.
Some folks here were very excited about the kirbicide being in the game still, but they are either plebeians unworthy of Kirby's grace, or probably not such jackasses about using it.
It is apparently the preferred way to annoy your friends.
I think if you don't resist it, you're shot upward, where as if you spam buttons and force your way out, you are shot downward when he releases you. In this game, where you can jump on people's heads to lower their recovery and boost your own, you might be able to survive it, while dooming kirby. You'd have to ask someone a bit more knowledgeable about such things, though.

Taco, I just find it funny that you have such a passion for hateing Kirby yet I see your avatar... as for the Kirbycide though, at least they made it easier to get out of this time. You will always shoot yourself up where as in melee you had a good chance of shooting out downwards.
As for dealing with it on Ike..I'm almost positive your foward smash can out range it, if not can't your up b move forward almost on top of him then hit him? as long as you can get him to at least shield himself, go for the grab and get rid of that BS.

As for Kirbycide, I think it's a viable tactic. But I never really play that as my primary objective. I just need to work a way to spit people off of walk-off edges...
Falconated Kirby punches, on the other hand...I will spam those for hours at a time.
Ok, so a buddy of mine is pretty hard core with PikaChu, I can't seem to get away from the fucking Thunders. I don't really have a main character, and I don't have a Wii/Brawl, but guys I like to play as are: Sonic, Ike, Gannon, Toon Link. Any suggestions as to how I can consistently kick the shit out of that little yellow rat would be great.
I have a friend who always picks Samus because of her charge shots. He'll stay away from any other fighters, charge up his blaster, and cherry-pick weak players. Whenever I take the fight to him, he whines about how I'm a loser who has too much time to be so good at the game.
Thankfully*, Samus' charge shot has been incredibly nerfed for Brawl.
As for Ike...Eruption is alright, but honestly it takes a bit luck to KO anyone with it at any percentage that would justify using it over his other moves. His forward-b is good for closing distance, and his up-b is good for clearing out the area, hitting potential edgeguarders while you are hanging from an edge, and nabbing final smashes far above him.
I got all used to playing Kirby in Melee, which basically consisted of just luring people close enough to the ledge to Kirbycide 'em, so even though Kirby got buffed a lot in Brawl, I can't use him worth shit.
I don't think it's actually possible to Kirbycide someone by inhaling on the edge and then walking off, unless they take a really long time to break out. The only reliable way I know of is to actually suck them in while you're falling.
