Guys this is like one of the best video game series ever (no doubt). If you've played them, you know this. If you haven't then you're pretty dumb! But that's okay, because it's easy to smarten up!
Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection
This just hit stores today and it is pretty much the best deal ever. For $30 you get the first three Metal Gear Solid games! But wait, it gets better! The latter two are the special editions (Substance and Subsistence respectively), which go for around $25 each if you find them used (although Subsistence in this collection only has one disc).
If you've got a PS2 or a compatible PS3 and have never played these games, go buy this now. If you don't have a PS2 you should probably get one because seriously, who doesn't have one these days?
I actually traded in my copies of Substance and Subsistence towards Essentials because I didn't have the first game and I figured the $9 I'd have to spend would be worth it.
Then you have this, which also just hit today.
Metal Gear Solid Mobile
This is a cellphone game (only available on Verizon in the US) that is apparently pretty good (it won awards!). It has some cool features like: use your phone's camera for custom camo! and play this game on your cellphone!
I want to give this a shot, I'm gonna see if my phone's compatible with it.
Also, in June we have Metal Gear Solid 4 hitting the PS3, and if you've seen anything on this game you know it's hot shit (unless you're bongi). If you're one of the millions who wants to play this game but is holding off on a PS3 until it hits, you're in luck!
Hitting stores in June, this bundle includes an 80GB PS3 (which you can use to play Essentials!), Metal Gear Solid 4, and the new DualShock 3, which can't be worse than the Sixaxis! This is all for the "cheap" price of $499, which if you'll note, isn't any more expensive than an 80GB PS3 by itself. So you're dumb if you don't want to take up this deal!

see, I picked one up in November and played Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted, and they're probably the best games I played last year, but I haven't touched it since other than to watch movies.
it looks like R&C might be getting either downloadable content or a PSN game, so there's that (and MGS4) to look forward to soon, at least

Um, well there's also Snake VS. Monkey, and Metal Gear 1 and 2 on the second disc. Have they moved MG 1 & 2 over to the first disc, at least? Because they were good games.
