How the heck do I get rid of blackheads? I have a bunch on my nose and surrounding area and I can't get rid of them, they have been there for about ten years and I always just assumed I could never get rid of them. Now I am seriously trying and I have been reading up on line on what to do. Would it be worth buying something like this? Also I have really oily skin on my face so that is part of the problem, I wash my face with water at least four times a day.

That helps keep blackheads away. I have the same kind of problem but my girlfriend told me what to do. If you go to the pharmacy, there's these nose patches that you put on your nose, you wet it and as it dries it starts to harden. When you pull it off, it pulls out all/most of the blackheads on your nose. The name is escaping me on what the hell it is but you could find it in the facial wash/acne area in your pharmacy. Start washing your face with a good facial wash that'll scrub your face like the one you found. Should be fine in no time.

    Biore strips

You'll porbably need someone to pop them out if they've been there for that long.

I read that the strips can cause scaring, is there any truth to that?

I have never heard that about the strips.

Washing your face four times daily is really excessive. It's probably over-drying your skin and causing it to produce excess oils, possibly even causing more breakouts. Twice a day, tops, with a mild soap that won't upset the natural PH of your skin is more than enough. Cetaphil is a good choice.

If you're washing it that much because you're producing so much oil you look like an oil slick by mid-day - you're better off using blotting papers between washing morning and night.

Stubborn blackheads can be removed safely with a sterilized extractor.

If your going to use the strips, I would suggest that you wash your face about 3 minutes before you apply the strip. Otherwise they won't stick (at least thats what happened to me).

Well, your face (or the strip) has to be soaked for them to stick - so wash if you want, but you're just going to have to re-soak your face just before you put the strip on.

Yea, but the oils on the skin will give the strip a hard time adhering. That was my problem, and why I had to wash my face just before the application of the strips.
