I'm so on the fence about this game. I played it for a bit yesterday, and while fun, I'm just not sure I am cool with the Gold edition crap. I mean, I thought EA had learned that they're micropayment strategy doesn't help their image as a goon in the industry.
So from what I understand you only get a set number of unlocks? Because I think my brother used mine.
You get just three unlocks in the demo because it caps your level. In the full version you unlock 15 weapons and gadgets through levelling up, 5 for hitting max level (or buy buying Gold edition), and another 5 through the "Find All Five" marketing scheme.

If you don't want to pay $10 for quicker access to the five level 25 unlocks you'll have plenty of other weapons to keep you busy between the 15 default weapons, 10 unlockable through levelling up weapons, and 5 "Find All Five" promotion weapons.

I'm disappointed in the lack of buzz for this game by you guys! It's a great multiplayer game.
Anyways, there five weapons you have to find/get the codes for to unlock. One you get from Veteran status (having played previous BF games), signing up for the newsletter, pre-ordering, getting to rank four in the demo, and checking your status online at the Bad Company website.
Unfortunately, I didn't pre-order the game, so I can't get that code. I called my Gamestop and asked if they had any extras, and they said they did and he'd give me one if I call back later. I call back later and another person tells me they don't have any. If anyone is able to grab an extra code, can you send it my way? I don't want to miss out on a gun just because I didn't pre-order the God damn game.

I work at Gamestop (*begin to dodge rocks*) and we got it in today around noon. In fact, I've actually played the first two levels and a handful of minutes from multiplayer.
As far as I know, all the gamestop/EB Games in Jersey got copies and when I stopped by Best Buy later, they had it on display and for sale.
I got it and am pretty fucking pissed I've had such issues getting online. I love this game so much when it works, but this is the second time today it just hangs at searching for games. When this game is released everywhere this shit better not happen.
I've been trying to play for a half hour, but its hanging on searching for games. This never happened in beta or demo so I'm guessing the servers are down or some shit. Pretty shitty for a release day!

Did you even read my post(s)? I know there are five you get by "doing random shit," that's what I'm talking about. One of those "doing random shit" is by pre-ordering the game. When you do that, sign up for the newsletter, check your stats on the website, play the demo to level four, have veteran status on your account, you get a code for each that you input at the unlock screen which will unlock one of the weapons.
My problem is it seems like you're screwed out of getting that sniper rifle if you don't pre-order the game, which seems highly unfair, especially once the game is out for a little while longer. Or will they be unlocked anyways once you reach level 25, alongside the Gold edition weapons? I have that impulse to collect everything, so if I can't get that gun it'll bother me. :P

I don't get any error. Like I said, it goes through and says it's going to send me my confirmation submit e-mail, but so far it's been a day and it hasn't sent me any. I need that e-mail for it to be linked. I tried multiple times all throughout yesterday and again this morning and no e-mail. Hell, it took them about eight hours yesterday just to send me my newsletter confirmation e-mail and code.

Maybe your 360 is on the edge of death. No problems here so far.
I played the demo flawlessly for a week and had no issues. I've tried to play multiplayer about 5 times and 3 sessions were never able to connect, 1 was horribly laggy, and 1 worked (and I had a fucking blast).
I really really really want to play and love this game, but when it doesn't work I get so pissed.
I can't wait to see the updated engine running on Battlefield 3 with 80 freaking players. Now that's going to be intense. Hopefully we'll hear something about it at E3 beyond the leaked investor document.

Battlefield Heroes – a free to play game for PC – is set to release this summer.
Gamesindustry.biz reports that of the forthcoming games, one will be a console based effort while another will be developed with South Korean company Neowiz and is aimed at the Korean market, and a third is likely to come in the shape of the heavily rumoured Battlefield 3.
So a Battlefield game by Koreans for Koreans. Is that really Battlefield? It'll probably be another crappy version of WarRock. I bet the console one is probably Bad Company 2.

Hunh, I picked it up yesterday 6/24, around 2 pm and played with almost no issue all evening yesterday. Lag was a minor issue in some game but I disco'd and reconnected to other games and things improved. There was a period of about 20 min yesterday when I could not join ranked games, I'm guessing their servers were rebooting or something because things started working again shortly after I noticed this.
Overall I feel like this was one of the most successful launch days for a game I've seen. Halo 3 and CoD4 both had huge latency issues on day 1 for me and I didn't see almost any yesterday.
Game is running great for me. Really loving this game. The new maps can be pretty frustrating though, hard to figure out where things are and so many people don't use key weapons to defend/attack.
Game needs team chat badly. They need to enable full team chat and forget about this weird little squad system. Being able to talk to the whole team would make the games a lot more interesting. You could ask snipers to use their motion sensor grenades which no one seems to use.... Kind of important when defending!
I'm gonna have to add the PA battlefield profile now. I don't remember if I have you on my list or not varcosis.
