Well, maybe we're just lucky. For the most part, I haven't run into any retards. I haven't been team killed constantly. Most people at least know what they're suppose to do. It also helps that we play together in squads a lot, so we're usually fighting together. Last night, until the very end, we were a blitzkrieg force. Maybe you should try to play together with us instead of by yourself. We're on pretty regularly.

How the hell have you managed to get rank 25? You don't get bored out of your fucking skull playing the same maps with a bunch of dumb fucks that need to die in a warp fire so they cannot pollute the gene pool? I got an hour or two at a time before I have to put the controller down.
I just got to 25 in a legit manner today. I select the maps I want to play via custom games usually... and though theres what, 8 maps? They are pretty well diversified.
The MG3 is tight, the gold/25 sniper rifle is... basically an svu with 2 more shots. The AK for assault is actually really decent.
I didn't know they had the skill level feature once you hit 25. This actually makes it really easy to point out who was a vehicle flipper leveler... they are all in the 40's. I'm at 9 right, just dropped back one from 8.
I have the feeling that, much like cod4, after maxing out I might lose interest pretty quick. At least until conquest comes out. Now that I have all unlocks except one, I'm a little pissed that I didn't preorder. I die from the pre-order unlock sniper rifle fairly often. If they don't give everyone another chance somehow to get it I'll be irked.
To my shock and amazement, I usually get paired up with some pretty good players in my squad. People who actually talk and strategize and don't TK me when I'm raping bitches with artillery.
And some of you need to add me so I don't have to pray that the randoms I get matched up with aren't complete fucktards.
I play for some decent stretches and I put up with the idiocy of the random people that I get stuck with by doing my own thing and sticking to it. One guy who stays alive near the front lines with a bunch of headless chickens will actually keep some decent pressure on the enemy.
As for the MG3, I'm not a fan of that gun. I seem to do poorly with guns that have a high rate of fire and low damage. Logically, the rate of fire should make up for the damage but I find myself losing a lot of gunfights with all of the high rate of fire guns.

I don't expect to fall asleep until 4-5am est. I'm rebooting my sleep cycle so I may not sleep at all.

How the hell do you party up in this game? I know I was in a 'squad' with pabh earlier but it seemed like the game never put us in together, he was even on the opposing team a few times!

Luckily the machine gun (the one I wanted) was easy enough, but man, how the hell do you link your gamertag to your EA account, and do they really want us to preorder a game we already bought?

edit: I almost forgot! I'm downloading a demo of a game I own to unlock a weapon? I hope they know they are huge assholes.

You have to get to rank four in the demo to unlock that weapon. It's a good gun, though. It's just too bad the demo is Oasis only and FULL of idiots. You think it's bad in the full game? Just wait.
As far as checking your stats online to get one of the weapons, linking gamer tags is farbot and I'm sure you already discovered that's a fruitless effort. Linking just does not work, and if you're on the 360 the damn system never sends you your confirmation submit e-mail. However, you can check your stats and get that weapon without ever having your account linked.
Ta-da! Now all you need to do is start up the game and your weapon will be unlocked. As far as the pre-order one, you'll have to eBay that, I'm afraid.

So they wiped everything on both systems? What the fuck could the reason be? Good thing the game is fun and i wasn't too far into it. But still, I hope they fix this pronto.
Yay. Just hit 25 and now all my shit disappears. It better be back in the morning or I reckon I'm going to throw a tantrum briefly before sighing deeply and resigning myself to starting over again.

Yup everything's gone on 360...except oddly my dog tags.
Guys, don't jump the gun. Your stuff isn't gone. This was happening earlier today, and it came back a few minutes into the match. It looks like the servers are just having trouble and they're doing maintenance, but your stuff isn't gone. If you wait it out, it should show back up in the match or later. As evidence of this, go to your unlock page or dog tag page, as someone mentioned. They're all still there. It's just accessing them in-game instead of a review page that the servers are putting out at.
But still, these guys fucking suck with maintaining their servers. Lag and the servers constantly going down. You'd think the very long beta and demo could have given some feedback for them to solve these issues before they ever arrived for the full game, yet it turns out the full game has more issues than those two ever did. It's a load of crap and I hope they get things sorted out. This is rockier than an MMO launch, and this is just a first person shooter!
Speaking of the official Bad Company forums, anyone find it annoying how they don't have a link at all to it on the game's website?

Yep, you can still play. Really, don't worry, you haven't lost all your stats or unlocks. It's just taking some time for the servers to access your stuff in-game, for some reason. As of writing this, though, I don't know if they've fixed it yet or not. I wouldn't be surprised to find that specific problem fixed for today. Something like that they'd get on right away.
So don't go throwing the game out of a window or anything, it's just server problems once more. It's a pain in the ass, but all we can do is wait for them to sort things out. I just hope they fire everyone and hire some better networking people.

All my unlocks are still showing up on that page. Nothing is actually gone. This is just DICE and EA having shitty servers like usual. Pain in the ass.

With that said I think this is my favorite Battlefield of all time. I really hope it makes it PC side. My favorite setup so far is the MG36 and Mortar. Its insane for defending. If I'm reading my stats correctly though it looks like most of my deaths by infantry are to M16 users. I might just have to blow an unlock on it after I finish off the gadgets (still need c4 I think).
I just got the MG36...mmhmm, that's a fine weapon. Kinda makes me hate the support class a little less. Also, I have noticed I kind of suck at this game. Just means I have to practice more I guess.

So do the servers suck a bit? I was getting dropped from games left and right after about 4AM CDT last night. Played COD4 just find right afterwords so it wasn't me. This is pretty fun, although I would like to play an attackers game where my team doesn't commit seppuku just as we are about to win. It's like as soon as you have that last crate corner everybody just rushes and rushes until you lose.

At least your team does something, my teammates either warp to some other dimension or have been attacked by roving bands of magicians because they seem to disappear whenever we need to do something.
Does anyone else feel that there is no middle ground in how well they play? I am either raping face or having my face raped. I'm either power tooling people in the face whilst getting all of the gold crates simultaneously somehow, or getting knifed from ten feet away after emptying my machine gun into the back of said knifer. The highs are high, but damn does my blood pressure go through the roof the seventh time smell my farts69 (sadly, this is a real person) shoots me in the face. I'd just like to have a normal game.
And on the topic of achievements and the mission Ghost Town (I'll spoiler this just to be safe, I really don't know if it needs to be):
In the very last fight, the one where the helicopter spends every waking second putting rocket after rocket into you no matter where you stand, I shot him downfour times with the laser designator before realising that it wouldin't work and then pushing my way through the objectives like it wanted me to. I'd just like clarification on if the reason I didn't get One In A Million was because I was shooting it down in a way it didn't expect so it just reset the chopper and acted as though it didn't happen. Or maybe the game hates me.

The helicopter is invincible before you get to the end, so you do no damage, and the achievement requires you to do damage. :x

Man I played a game last night where we were outnumbered 2:1. Then most of my team left and me and a squad of just 2 other guys managed to get every gold crate.
Best game ever. We became like a well-oiled machine.
I really like the main mechanic in this game, the destruct-ability, but I really do not like the game-type, or the gold mechanic. With the defending or assaulting fixed points that define the battlefield. Will the conquest mode open that up? ie make it so you can run around just attacking the other team?
Also, I've died and we've lost the pair of gold crates, and I have the choice to choose either my squad, (still at the last checkpoint) or the new checkpoint. Yet it will not let me select my squad. If this is the case why even show the option?
