Is there some free software or something I can use to compress this 10 minute 1GB video into something much smaller so it doesnt take a week to upload to Youtube?

I couldn't figure out how to do it in WMM. That is take an existing .avi and just compress it and re-save it as something smaller.

I seem to be having some success with the divx converter

    Oh? It's something like:

1.) On the side, click "Import Video" -> Select the AVI you want
2.) Drag the video clip representing your AVI into the "story board" at the bottom of the window
3.) On the side, click "Save to my Computer" -> Select filename, directory, and then bit rate/file size?

Nevertheless, if you've got it working with divx converter, that's cool too.
