Hate: Terribad social-rank guild members seeing that we're recruiting and getting all uppity and wanting to apply to be raiders. I need to slap some bitches, keep 'em in their place.
Tie-in Hate: The fight I'm going to have to have with a certain other officer cos he doesn't know how to be mean to girls and we're desperate for shadow priests again.
It might not hurt to give them a shot. We've picked up a couple of solid raiders that way. If you have and proven they suck, then show them your Ike Turner impression.
And a lot of guys have a hard time being mean to girls cause seeing/hearing one cry sucks. Age has given me some discipline over that, and there are situational exceptions but a woman crying has horrible effects on my inner bastard.
Oh no the two I'm thinking of, I've done Kara and/or ZA and five-mans with them, they're horrible at this game. One I can't stand but the other is a genuinely nice person who I have no idea how to tell her she is not going to be raiding.
Do they, or at least the nice one, have potential to learn if guided? I was horrible with my rogue (though I didn't know it at the time) until I started reading this forum and learning things about my class that aren't explained in the game.

Can you teach her how to be better? It's worth it sometimes if only for feeling nice about yourself.

re Sethekk Halls.
I would only ever do that place on heroic for two reasons
a) For the first boss, for the Nightbane quest chain.
Even doing this option sucks ass, because the Time Lost Controllers are some serious bullshit. You better hope you can keep them stunned until they die, because if they drop a charming totem and the tank get's MC'd, everyone is dead.
WHICH IS FUCKING BULLSHIT MC EFFECTS SHOULD NEVER TARGET THE TANK
b) For a druid guildie's epic mount quest. So far, I have managed to wrangle it that I am not online when any of our druids got their epic flying and were looking to do the quest.

Ever done the Lynx trash in ZA? The MC there can target the tank. Just last night, our MT got MC'ed, used intimidating shout, and feared one of us into a pack of elite Lynxes. Our only non-Jan'alai wipe that night.

The MC there doesn't target the tank as long as he has aggro on the mob that MCs.
We used to have me, as the paladin, tank all the cats, and have the warrior tank the Trainer.
Once we figured out that having the warrior tank the Trainer left me open to MC, letting the cats run wild, we just had me tank everything, and had no more problems.
Bored of Having Nothing to Spend Gold On: After noting that [Plans: Hard Khorium Battleplate] have apparently not dropped once in the past two months, I decided to use some of my vast gold surplus, drop Axesmithing, pick up Armorsmithing, do a little personally-collecting-motes for Primal Mana, but otherwise buying stuff off the AH to build Breastplate of Kings, Bulwark of Kings, and Bulwark of the Ancient Kings in rapid sucession. Apparently even better for my stats than the heroic badge DPS chest (and better than anything else within reach), it's currently equipped with cheapo Bold Blood Garnets, awaiting midnight on Friday when we finally get our Alchemy Lab....
And, in any case, it's much better than the leather chest I'd been wearing for months since the moment I hit 70.
Hoping: That I'll find random time when not doing Actual Programming Work this week to finish up my jewelcrafter's rush to Exalted with SSO before Friday night. Need just a bit more rep in order to be able to do every epic gem cut I need.

Man, what. The MC totem gets one-shotted by most DPS classes. If people can't survive for the three or four seconds it takes your DPS to target and kill the totem, then your group has some serious issues. The other mobs in those pulls don't hit hard at all, except maybe the birds if they knockback + knockdown + hit at the same time.

I don't know whats the matter, but I rolled in there with three smart, geared DPS, and I got MCd once, instant wipe.
Happy: Playing my druid again! woo!
Hate: Not playing my enhance shaman. boo!
Hoping: I remember how to tank! yikes!
Bitching: No epic flight form yet suck!
Happy: I got a most likely one-time only deal of Psuedo officer status during last night's raid since I was running recount, and WWS has been down. So while dealing with the hassle of linking everything to everyone (ROGUES!), I changed around a bunch of the officer notes, kicked a guy, changed the guild info, you know, all the cool stuff you'd do as an officer for 4 hours.

Bahaha, good times. Always fun to catch a random promote, kick 4 people, then get booted yourself.
Bitching: They really do need to fix the WWS crap. I'm getting tired of having to back-log parses, because they still haven't worked out basic kinks in their new system. They flipped out over the parses, when the crap didn't split individual fights. So simple to change it to reflect that Blizzard forgot to add "deaths" to their log.

Hahaha I didn't notice that you changed the guild info though I was laughing at most of the officer notes.
I miss WWS. It was working the first night I respecced but hasn't been since, so I haven't been able to get a real idea of how I'm doing yet. That one night was just Hyjal and Sunwell trash, and Hyjal is stupid.
Also I hate you all. I would happily wear a skirt if it was better than Leggings of Channeled Elements!
Oh and something else I forgot to reply to. The nice-yet-terrible app I was talking about, yes I'm sure we could teach her how to DPS and maybe how gear works (after all shadow destro and using a spreadsheet don't take that much skill), but her situational awareness in places like ZA is the problem and not something you can really teach someone. Also reliability. I just don't think she gets what high-end raiding means.

Does she PvP? It tends to build situational awareness and might help.
Also, WTB Mini-Skirt of sweet stats and green wrapping paper. :winky:
Happy: Rolling into Sunwell last night and one shotting Kalecgos. So nice killing him without an hour and some of people remembering how to walk through portals and not die.
Hate: Brutallus then proceeded to be a giant fucker. Three hours later, he died. Very frustrating. It annoys me to no end that your tank healing can be perfect, your tanks can be perfect, and the RNG can still just fuck you over and the tank evaporates into a red mist.
Hope: Felmyst dies tonight, giving us a solid 3 days of working on the twins.
Hate: Working on twins. That fight is stupid.
Guiltily Happy: Wife and I are on vacation to see her family, so we'll only be there for one night of working on twins.
I will second the hatred of the Twins. A whole night of "oops, you were 0.2 seconds too slow on your run, the tank got conflagged and now you start all over again. Enjoy the 5 minute run back!" is not an appealing raid. It wouldn't be a whole lot, but it would've been nice to portal right to Brutallus' room once he and Felmyst were dead.
I've never seen one of them below 40%, and I don't think we've killed one yet to date, and there's always a few "oops, I fell off the ledge" wipes. It's just a grueling night between the finesse the encounter requires along with the speed with which wipes can occur and then the ugly run back time.

More Sunwell Hate: We had four raiding mages, then one quit. We have spent weeks not killing Kalecgos cos we have enough decursers MAYBE once a week, usually not even that. Then we recruited one new mage to get back up to four. Now our GL is saying "no I don't think we need another mage." Like, what? We're cockblocked on a fight that requires four mages in the raid, and our mages are nowhere near 100% attendance, yet FIVE IS TOO MANY?

Man, any good tank will keep his fear on cooldown against mobs that MC him.
That is something that I didn't even think about while leveling, and then when in an instance you gotta pick your time when you use it, because you don't want to fear the mobs you are tanking, if all you are facing are undead like during a baron run, keeping it on cooldown is easy. But when facing mobs who will gladly run into a pack of friends you can't really do that.

You can also burn it just before the pull when no mobs are within 8 yards from you.

Like I said, it wasn't something I thought about while leveling, and then using a skill for rage so I can use intimidating shout wasn't something that crossed my mind. Luckily for me nothing major came of it.
And I can be forgiving if it happens to the tank of my group once. If it happens a second time I would probably remind the tank before every pull. And if it happens a third time I would be apologizing and then leaving the group.
Ecstatic: Now that my Warrior is finally sporting some decent gear, he is a goddamn powerhouse in PvP. I find myself right back up on the top of the kills/damage list and I love it. There is nothing quite like popping sweeping strikes, spamming WW/Cleave/MS and getting sword spec procs while fighting four level 70 mobs once and annihilating them in seconds.
Oh yes, lol at the Shard of Contempt, easily the highest proccing trinket I've ever seen in the game. It's almost always up.

I've been MC'ed plenty of times on my warrior tank though. Several seconds of hilarity and then it's all good.
