We've been sort of hijacking the Ultimate Spider-Man thread to discuss the new cartoon, so it seemed to warrant it's own topic.
Synopsis (From Wikipedia
The Spectacular Spider-Man was announced by Kids' WB Senior Vice President and General Manager Betsy McGowen and Sony Pictures Television Co-President Zack Van Amburg in March, 2007. The series is produced by Culver Entertainment. It premiered on March 8, 2008 on Kids' WB on The CW, one week after it was originally scheduled to premiere.
According to writer Greg Weisman the timeline of the original Spider-Man story-arcs, which the series is based on, will be condensed in order to move the series forward and include such classic and important characters as Flash Thompson, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, Betty Brant, Harry Osborn, Jean DeWolff, J. Jonah Jameson, Aunt May Parker, Joe 'Robbie' Robertson, and Liz Allan. The new series will not follow the same continuity as the Spider-Man film series. Greg Weisman says that the episodes will have three to four episode arcs for DVD release reasons. The tie-ins will be slight, but present. The first episode arc will feature Vulture, Hammerhead, The Enforcers and Electro. Weisman wrote the first episode.[5]
Hasbro will release a toy line of Action figures in April 2008.[6]

Season One Episode Breakdown
"Survival of the Fittest[8]" Spider-Man has to save industrialist Norman Osborn from the high-flying Vulture while being pursued by The Enforcers.[7]
"Interactions[9]" Peter Parker tutors Liz Allen, while Spider-Man tries to stop the former Lab Electrician, Max Dillion who became Electro after an accident involving Bio-Current Generation.
"Natural Selection[10]" Peter Parker and Spider-Man both must learn to make own their choices when decisions made by Dr. Curt Connors transform Pete's mentor into The Lizard.
"Market Forces[11]" While Peter Parker resists taking on the responsibility of helping Aunt May pay the bills, Montana -- the Big Man's Enforcer -- becomes the stunning Shocker to fulfill his responsibility: eliminating Spider-Man.
"Competition[12]" Flint Marko becomes Sandman.
"The Invisible Hand" Alex O'hirn is transformed into the Rhino[13]
"Catalysts" Spider-man meets the Green Goblin.
"Reaction" Dr. Otto Octavius turns into Doctor Octopus.
"The Uncertainty Principle"
"Persona[14]" Black Cat and Quentin Beck appear.
"Group Therapy" The Sinister Six form (instead of Kraven the Hunter, this version has Shocker).
Everything is in place and we even know what he'll look like, I just don't see it happening in any of the Season One episodes yet (although there's the few with vague/no descriptions).

hopefully not until the end of the season, or next season.
This show has really surprise me.
It's not as kiddy as I thought it would be, the animation is great (Loved this week's shocker fight) and what's even better is that the characters just feel right. I really liked Osborn's talk with his son this week, and Spider-man has quips that are actually funny.
Really, I can't say enough good things about this show at the moment.

As I said on the other thread, I like that Gwen is apparantly the main female character, rather than MJ. And having her be a fellow brain alongside Peter(at least, that's how I've heard they'll be using her) seems interesting.
What time is this on and how many episodes have there been?

Is there an option to watch this online somewhere? Something like the adult swim fix?

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
What time is this on and how many episodes have there been?
4 episodes so far. Vulture, Electro, Lizard, Shocker appear in that order. As for when it airs, I believe it's 10:30 AM on Saturdays. I record it on my DVR, though, so i could be wrong.
As for watching it online, you can't without, presumably, breaking copyright laws.
I'd heard the Kids WB! block had been sold to 4Kids. What does that mean for Spider-Man?
4Kids seems to have a vendetta against anything they didn't dub or create (because it wasn't done with their charming condescension), so chances are good it's going to be shunted off.

Well, so far there's plans for two 13 episode seasons. Considering that 4Kids won't start using it until September, that sounds like ample time for airing all of the episodes. Of course, this is just some speculation on my part, as nothing official has been said about what will happen to Spider-man.
Saw all four episodes of this today at a friend's house. I was skeptical, and the theme song is godawful, but the rest of the show was pretty damn good.
And that quarterback may be the best character ever with his cheesy one-liners. "You want some aloe vera for that burn?"
I like the show, I thought it did a good job introducing the cast in the first two episodes and then dove head first into the Peter Parker's life sucks no matter which path he takes. The theme is fucking recockulously stupid, but my friend likes it and I enjoy making fun of him so it works in a way that I can make fun of him for liking a stupid theme.

If the show gets a second season I wonder if Marvel would put some of its "current" characters in like Echo or even the Sentry. Seeing him animated would be a trip.

Why does everyone hate on the theme song? Yes,the lyrics are kinda stupid but I think it is hilariously catchy and completely sets the mood for 20 minutes of Spidey hijinks.
I really like how they are slowly building up some of the supporting characters in the show.
Like for example, in the latest episode they had Flint Marko show up sans powers. And Spidey just laughs in his face about how many times he has put him in jail. And next week we get to see Marko become the Sandman.

I love it too. It makes the transformations that much more meaningful and brings established relationships to the fights rather than having them be generic heroic encounters.

Marko and his partner (who will become Rhino) have been shown in the first episode too.
I really like how they are doing the Mary Jane thing. "Nice personality..." *shiver* and then when she turns up Peter will fall head over heels for her.

I liked the "spider-themed onesie" comment from the Lizard episode. Little touches like the "spider web sunsets" are nice too.
It's actually Edward Elric in his later years.

Here's hoping Cartoon Network scoops it up.

And the old theme is still the winner!
But are you "living on the edge, fighting crime, spinning webs?"
