Help me ID a MacGyver episode.

I think this one BEGINS in some college or something. Two people have set up a "test" as kind of a challenge for the other one. Some kind of convoluted lock. One involves a remote control, the other a clock.

Anyone remember this episode?

I vaguely recall it, largely because the "traps" are based on a CalTech (had some buddies there) tradition of seniors locking up their rooms, and underclassmen trying to break in.
Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_problems_solved_by_MacGyver to see if anything rings a bell

    It's "Hell Week", Season 3, Episode 9

I think they call it the "Barricade Contest"

I'm sad because I knew this and I didn't get to answer the question. My purchase of the entire series of MacGyver will not be in vain.

I knew you wanted this episode before I clicked here, it was an awesome one.

    Link

The students in a dorm had a contest to win some prize. The contest was to prevent someone from entering your dorm room, and the various ways you were allowed to lock the door to prevent it. You are only allowed one try at the door.. if its locked when you try the door, you lose.

    From what I remember:

One door has 6-10 deadbolt locks... some locked, some open. Defeated by a student applying a magnet and iron fillings to see which are locked.

One door has the type of lock used at a bank, on a timer that can only be opened after a certain time. Defeated by a student increasing the frequency of the timing circuit(?) to have the clock cycle faster and open in 8 min rather then 8 hrs

The 'winning' entry has a detailed scale model of the room visible through the peephole. Locking was done via a large boom on a garage door motor. When the dorm door was locked (boom forward) the model was unlocked (boom back). So the door was unlocked the whole time. 'Unlocking' the door actually locked it.

Some dude cheated, using a parabolic dish to hear the student describe his entry to his girlfriend, and got the door open. Since the kid was on drugs (speed?) and disapointed his father, he somehow builds a bomb set to go off to prove he is a good physics student (really)

The bomb / dorm is near the physics department, containing plutonium .. so this bomb will cause some fallout. I do remember the bomb having a tray of mercury in the center, with wires around the side.. the screws to take off the top were wired to the tray, so unscrewing the top would tilt the tray, spilling the mercury, completing the circuit.

Thats all I remember... i hope its enough.

Anyone remember the episode where they are on the boat with the 2 bombs, and the bombs have this yellow powder in them that they suck out with neon light tubes? And they have to pour milk in the bomb tank.... What was the name of that episode?

    Countdown (1x14)

The bomb is behind a sealed glass window and filled with some inert gas (or maybe a vacuum).. he uses a neon light tube carefully inserted in the silicone seal, pops off the plastic cap, and uses the vacuum from the neon tube to suck in the phosphorus powder.

There is another bomb that contains acid, which he neutralized with a 'base' made of milk and oven cleaner.

EDIT: This episode is detailed here

and the hjell week one above Here

    Bam

I actually bought all the seasons separately first and then was forced to purchase this because it's the only way to get the two made for TV movies(awesome).
