Well this isn't a LTTP since, I've had the game for awhile. I'm just here to start a thread about Gothic 4, and 3 because not much has been talked about for 4. Now I hope we can talk about stories from 3, what you hope is in 4, or what we liked about the series, and keep the boar rapage to minimum. I also don't want this to turn into a thread that is a war between "Gothic 3 is teh suxzoors" Some people(I included) actually like this game. On to what I like about the game.
I like gothic 3 because, I could relate to the characters, they weren't just boxes of text, they had a voice. I think my greatest example of this is in cape horn, with the first Thief you encounter, as I was a rebel, I had to free Cape Horn, but I felt sad that I might have to come to blows with him.
I didn't as he was with the rebels all along. :P
Also accepting titles that may or may not be awesome.

Are there any new informations about Gothic 4?
Anyway, I'd rather stick with the new Piranha Bytes game.

I don't think so, but there's not much more about the new Pluto 13 game. But I still want to think that Gothic 4 can be like Gothic 3 should have been at it's prime.
My problem with Gothic 3 is that it ran like complete shit and still does after all this time. I have no problem running any other new game, but holy shit does that game play like ass. And I love me some Gothic.
Actually the more I think about it, it feels like Gothic 3 was a step backward from 2.
Maybe it's vista. I have a 8800 GTX. It was known to have huge memory management problems, which they just "fixed" in a community patch in February. I'm definitely not alone in saying it ran like shit and still does.
Any other game I run at 1920 x 1200 at max settings and get absolutely no slow down, usually a steady 60fps or higher. Not Gothic 3. And the graphics are way worse.
My problem with Gothic 3 was that it clearly wasn't finished. Dunno if it's been patched to goodness now because there was the seed o an awesome game buried in there, I've just not got enough patience to let it bloom.

That too. Like I said, it seemed a step backwards from 2. So much that when I usually started playing it I would just shrug and load FCOM Oblivion instead and mess around for a few hours. I'm hoping the next Gothic doesn't disappoint me so.
Myself, having never played a Gothic game before, surprisingly loved Gothic 3 even though it ran like utter crap and crashed spontaneously. That is, I loved it until a few hours into the desert zone it just decided to not run anymore. Ever.
I didn't know they were working on a fourth game. I don't know if I want get my hopes up.

They are, but the publisher is going with a different developer this time. Piranha Bytes, also known as Pluto 13, was the developer of the first three games. They haven't announced who is making the fourth game, aside from mentioning it will also be released on consoles.
Edit: Damn, beat'd!

The worst part of Gothic 3 was getting into combat with an animal. I was a goddamned terminator on everything else, but those boars... holy crap.
You know, I think that all the characters were good in Gothic 3, but if they wanted a real, live world, it should have been like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, but with swords and sorcery.

A patch fixed that. After it came out, I didn't have any problem killing them anymore. It was actually a problem fixed in one of the first patches.
