You know, there's quite a bit wrong with that character... aside from looking like it's powerleveled. But how the *fuck* does a rogue with worse stats than mine have a fucking Warglaive? Seriously, my Rogue has mostly blue gear, a couple PvP epics... better Hit, better AP and better Crit than that. And that would be even if I went a PvE Combat spec. Seriously, just how?
Shadowstep sword rogue with shit gear, no points into making a decent sword rogue, and a warglaive. I... I just frothed with rage.

To be fair, last night that Rogue was Combat spec, a few gear pieces were different (though I'm not sure why, the gear they have on right now has more AP and Crit than the shit they had on last night that had more Hit, woo 176 hit)
Regardless, for a human character, their reps are complete shit, THEY ARE ONLY FRIENDLY WITH ASHTONGUE. So they've been through BT what, like twice? They don't have the melee DPS head enchant from Cenarion Expedition and they don't have the good Scryer shoulder enchant either.
Ugh, that seriously must be the random alt rogue of the guild leader or something, and I still think the character itself was bought/powerleveled.
I can't hit the armoury from work, but that's my guess too. Rather than give them to a hunter or a paladin or something, if your guild had all of the rogues/warriors with warglaives, why not put them to good use? Maybe hold a raffle or use DKP or something to let one person bring their alt to Illidan kills 'just in case'?

Does Blizzard ever roll out a patch, even one like this that's only 4 MB, that doesn't result in the realms going "Fuck you!" and requiring extended downtime?
So I'm totally confused on how they'll be implementing the Death Knight starting at such a high level.
I mean, no matter how you slice it, it seems that it'll create problems.
Rolling on a new server? Roll a Death Knight, do a few quests in Outland real quick, sell all your stuff and mail the cash to the new character you really want to create.
Got PK'd while trying to level up in the Wetlands? Log out, roll a DK, and come back with a vengeance.
PUG having trouble with a mid-level instance? One of them logs out and comes back as a DK. Easy mode.
Want to join a raid on the opposite faction's villages but are too lazy to level up your character enough to do it? BAM: All Death Knight raid on Southshore.
Granted, a lot of this was technically possible as it is as long as you already have a high level character on the server, but now it seems anyone can do it with the click of a button.
Then there's the question of where a DK will stand in terms of tradeskills and reputation. Does he start at zero like all new characters, putting him waaay behind everyone else and causing us to see tons of DKs running around mining Dun Morogh and skinning rabbits?
All in all, I just don't understand why the Death Knight doesn't start at a lower level where most of this wouldn't be a problem. Like starting at level 10 in a newly created area of your capitol city, or maybe in some new area added to that blank spot on the left side of the Tirisfal Glades map.
Hell, actually put Gilneas on the map and make it the starting ground for level 20 or so DKs. Then they'd easily be able to venture into Alliance or Horde areas depending on their faction.
Or just make it a regular class and drop the "Hero" bit altogether.
I know all the details aren't in and Blizzard is still tweaking the idea, but I'm at a bit of a loss to see how they could let them start at such a high level without messing up the economy, pvp, and so on.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly my fears on the class to a tee. It's just such an odd implementation of what should be, in my mind, a prestige class for a warrior. Because frankly, if the DKs go into the game as they've been described by the devs, who in their right mind would want to play a warrior? Even if the warrior edges out the DK by being a better tank in some cases, you'd still (I'd think) want to roll the DK for the fun factor of tanking by kicking ass with dual weapons or one big two-hander.
This is why I wish they'd have given us some insight into the class, or at least their thoughts during development, so they could get some feedback.
Not just the high level problem, but the fact that it looks like they're putting in just one hero class; by the mere fact that it is a "hero" class, it is implied that it is more powerful--perhaps only slightly, but still--than regular classes. Not only that, but it's the first new class since 2004, and one with a really attractive premise, particularly to the wretched "male in early teens" demographic.
The result? Tons and tons of (likely overpowered in PvP) death knights.
Blizzard would be very wise to seriously rethink the whole thing and consider
a) Doing it right and making the hero classes extensions on existing characters rather than entirely new characters;
b) Not releasing any hero classes until there can be at least one counterpart for each current class in the game.

They're not going to intentionally make it stronger than other classes; that'd be stupid.
Though the description does sound like a Warlock in plate. o_O

For reasons of lore, sure, but thematically and for reasons of practicality, they're a DPS Warrior/Warlock hybrid (from the sounds of things, at least).

So they're a magic using class in plate oriented toward melee?
That's a paladin. :-p
Also, I hate the lore being ignored or glossed over. It just makes generic fantasy game X. Do we really need to kill every damn dragon we see? The most powerful druid in either realm is a balance druid, yet that's the least supported spec? etc. It's fucking annoying.
They don't want your feedback. Your feedback is dumb. They know what is best for you, and you will take it and like it.
An interesting point. You should call me on the phone so we can discuss your theory.
A little more seriously, what do you think would happen if they actually solicited advice from the user base? Calm, rational, well thought out posts would drown under the tardal wave (I like that term, I'm taking it).
I, for one, would not envy the man whose job it is to sift through 10 million people's opinions.

Flavor>practicality.
If anything, they could be described as an Anti-Paladin with their corruption spells, rune abilities and the whole "death" overtone.
I hear you about the lore, but frankly they've not been too concerned with remaining true to it for a while now, from what I've been told.

While true, I think that there is some merit to having an open discussion on people's thoughts and ideas as to how the class should work. They've already shown that they have no problem taking balance suggestions from the forums anyway, so it stands to reason that the same effort could be applied here.

Also, if they're a prestige class for anyone, it's paladins, for obvious reasons.
