Well, I was levelling a shaman and had about 50 gold at 32, and I'd gotten lazy with the AH. The funny thing is people will buy your horribly shitty items if the market is empty enough, but even then you're not going to make big bucks off agil cloth. This shaman had no support, but in all honesty I was going to ne perfectly set for cash unless I bought expensive greens (Monkey)

Geez if I had to pay my own way I'd barely have enough money to buy water from the vendor. Must be due to my never learning how to make money from my crafting skills. I tend to view them as a chore to be kept up with, not as a profit center. Finally going herb/alchemy has helped to change my viewpoint, however. Ker-ching !
My 30~ draenei hunter has about 50g too from AHing low-level greens and copper on a mature server. Her only "support" so to speak was Forar giving me 16-slot bags. Bags do help an awful lot when you're vendoring and AHing everything in sight for gold.
Heh, I was LWing/Skinning, and keeping up the levels (Made good money rounding up deviate scales and making belts too). The way I see it, early on most greens are 1g a pop, and that stacks up very well.
Edit: Oh, I got bags, but I want to say not until the mid-20s (Tanks riz)
Best way to make money while leveling up is to grab two gathering professions, AH the mats. And vendor everything a mob drops. Even if it's bellybutton lint. Also, avoid buying from the AH at all costs is a good idea. Doing this, I was able to get my 40/60/70 mount the moment I dinged. (still no epic flyer though , but new dailies are helping with that. :rotate: )
I tried James' leveling guide. I didn't like it for the most part. There were a few parts that were pretty efficient, but generally there was too much running around; by the time I got to my quest rewards, I would've exceeded them through mobs killed.
Well I do think Joana's was better. It was so efficient as to tell me when and where to change my hearthstone, and when to hearth, to absolutely maximize travel time, in addition to the expected quest-stacking in areas.

That's the issue.
There's virtually no reason to level anything other than a gathering skill until you're close to max level. There's probably a better instance drop out there than anything you could make, and to keep up with those drops you'll need materials from higher level zones than you have access to anyway. Just selling off low level herbs and ore will make you plenty of gold to support yourself. If you know what you want to level when you hit 70ish, you can just check out a leveling guide and stash away what you'll need for later.

Leveling my Paladin without engineering would have been much, much more painful.
A little bit, lately the bulk of my cashflow has come from getting people who don't know how to play their shoulders.
It's amazing what people will pay for a cosmetic improvement.
Edit: It should be noted that I pay for all of my guild's raid repairs and a huge chunk of consumables every week as well, and still have a few coins lying around.
For the gajillionth time: yes, we know only the male nagas drop them. We've also gone so far as to determine that the males and females do not appear to share spawn points. The problems are a combination of ninja killing and RNG karma. It's the same problem where, today, I got the Sunfury Plans off the 3rd elf I killed but needed over a dozen kills to get a phasing device in BEM.
I've been using Jamie's guide for my low level alts. He has changed it multiple times (right after the levelling reduction was put in, you would easily be "behind" on his guide by several levels if you were rested at any point). It's not so bad now, but rested exp will allow you to skip a couple of the more annoying quests the guide has, like the various "gather the pages" quests though.
I thought he had the page collecting quests as optional. Plus, those are free xp quests. Just go to the AH. 2g later, you've got a shit ton of quests to turn in. (I hope you're talking about the STV ones, otherwise I'm going to feel like a stupid head)
You know..I just have to say this as my first post on the PA forums..why can't WoW decide to just go and put their game on 360 and ps3? They'd so make more cash..and my pc sucks so I can't play it on mine only on my ps3 -cough-

Because of how terrible the controls would be on a controller.
It only worked for FFXI because from the very start, it was designed to be used on a console.

The caveat is of course that tailoring, enchanting, and alchemy are all amazing leveling skills since you get much of the mats on your own, and alchemy potions can substantially decrease difficulty (Having trouble surviving a stretch of mine? Make health/fortitude pots! Shifting out of Bear/cat form only to find yourself stranded AFTER using a pot? Rejuv pots!)
And Enchanting is one of those trades where you'd rather headbutt a wall than go through with it, then suddenly you notice that you're hemorrhaging cash because of it.
And then tailoring robs it from you!
It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't a Frost mage, and didn't have a set that everyone says is "Great for Shadow Priests and Warlocks! Not as great for Frost Mages."

Yeah, WoW would be very nearly impossible to control properly with a controller... and without user-made interface mods. Also, how horrible does your computer have to be to not be able to run it? Just shell out $350 to build yourself a bottom-of-the-line PC and you'll have no difficulties running it max settings.

My zombie survival life simulator They Don't Sleep is out now on Steam if you want to check it out.
I've used Jame's for all my alts (Alliance Side) so far, mostly to the 40's. Last I checked he still hadn't updated the 40-50 or 50-60 Alliance Side though. I tend to use it as a bit of guideline instead of following it though, since I always have plenty of rest XP.
Now for the STV pages, I have to admit to cheating. My friend and I knew we were going to have a lot of alts go through STV, so we dedicated 15 slots of our guild bank to the pages. It's served us well to date; there are times when being a packrat is an advantage.
In all honesty, I managed to sell even the shitty greens. This occurs at lower levels more often, but even past that people want something to replace their terrible items, and the greens "Of the wolf "are better every now and then.
You just have to find a sucker to sell a spirit plate piece though.

I had the same experience levelling my Shaman. If you put it up for a reasonable price, somebody will buy it. Spirit being excepted, here. Not even gold farming bots will wear that.
I just disenchant all my greens now, then either save the mats for the final push to 375 or sell the dust/whatever, unless it's something really nice, like rogue leather or perfect caster stat cloth. Green weapons are always disenchanted because I'm fairly certain that quest rewards are just as good if not better.

There's also one for horde in Ashenvale, and there's always a page or two that I can never find (even on both the horde and neutral AHs).
Muffin Man, you going to join the Mega Man X Race?
I really really want to. Is it just the mavericks?
I can never seem to beat Sigma
I doubt I'd place high enough to get to that round anyway, but it'd be nice to try...
But no. Lack of controller, and suck-ass computer that would probably die if I ran Skype AND a video recording program AND a MMX all at once.
It was just the Mavericks, and if you can't beat sigma, you probably wouldn't get top 4 :P (I barely can, so I doubt I could either). I missed the sign-ups by two people, however Slowbeef didn't get in, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was expanded to include him.
Another set of gold-for-exp quests are the "A Donation of [Cloth]" quests in each capital city. You can do each one once for each major faction. Silk, Mageweave, and (the non-repeatable version of) Runecloth are all highly worthwhile.

Completely unrelated to the topic of discussion currently at hand:
Does anyone else think Blizzard is crazy, or at least cowardly, to be raising the level cap again?
Even the first time was needless, but doing it again is establishing a pattern. If every expansion is like this, how long is the level grind going to be a few years from now?
It feels to me like they're just pressing "reset" every time they do it. It's easier and will lose them less players than fixing the game's current problems, and perhaps attract more new players in the process. Good business sense, I suppose; not a whole lot of integrity or courage.

Closed alpha is ongoing....
http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/04/10/breaking-wrath-of-the-lich-king-is-in-alpha/
So expansion soonish.
Closed alpha doesn't mean soon. It means some of the code is there and the develops think some of it works.

Abusing the crap out of arenas. You'd be surprised how fast money stacks up at ~6k per three hours.

Wait, maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. O_o
It helps in terms of pulling until you get AS. Also the death ray gives some nice burst damage. It's very handy for those mobs you need to solo.
I meant like november or between 5-7 months off. kinda soonish.
Im sure its world of placeholder craft in alpha stage.
