West Coast Train Trip 2008: Communist Edition

You're drawn to my eccentric Brawl Code: 4596 9143 4529
Its the same as trying to play it on someone elses console, since its tied to a different serial number so it has to be online to make sure you aren't trying to play it from multiple places.
However with a replacement console, they set the content to renew the DRM when you next redownload it. I'm under the impression that this is something Microsoft has to do on their end, and if they didn't with yours then its worth calling them up to get it fixed.
I just tested it with mine as I got mine back in January and had never gotten around to redownloading the old stuff. Geometry Wars wouldn't work while offline as expected since it was an old download on the HD from when I had my original 360. Connected to live, deleted and redownloaded, and its playable offline again.
But normally redownloading doesn't renew the DRM, as far as I'm aware. It certainly didn't in the case of using my gamertag on a memory card on my friend's 360 to download my Rock Band DLC again on his box. It ceased to work when offline, something that will happen regularly on the train if one was to bring just their hard drive and put it in another 360.
Basically the whole point is, whoever is bringing the 360, needs to be the one with the DLC. Otherwise its not going to work for the train if we want to have access to more songs.
Yeah, there should be internet access, but if its like last year, we won't have it the whole trip. There are pockets through the train ride where there just isn't any access via whatever we were using last year, so you can't count on it being up the whole time.
EDIT: Sarnath'd.
Recently, Union Pacific has been giving Amtrak priority on its tracks. The Coast Starlight has been relatively on time and early since mid-August 2007.
Was the train on time last year?
The way up might of been. The way back down was like 2-3 delay of them letting other trains pass us so they don't get delayed and driving off when handicapped people were in the middle of boarding and having to go back and get them. Gave us some more party time but we were tired when we finally got off in L.A.
I'm about ready to fall off the edge! The suspense is killing me!
This will be a great opportunity to re-kindle my love for tabletop games,
The WOW Board Game caught my attention. Anyone care to throw down?
Edit 1: Updated roster. Main track line is at 69 people. We're about to break the 70 mark. Removed Foxy. Damn shame.
Edit 2: God damn it. Someone lost our paperwork. I just re-set up our convention stuff with Amtrak. Should get a call back soon.
Convention stuff?
Is there gonna a PAX car or something?
Do I have to buy a cake to prove you wrong? I don't even know if they'll let me on with the cake.
Depending on how you define the word "convention" then yeah.
Soooooo does Amtrak have a policy for portable kitchen appliances like blends, electric stoves, and Foreman grills. Cause I sorta want some smoothies(with booze) and some milkshakes(with more booze) I just want to know if we can open that option up.
Edit: On the subject of cake my B-day is on Sept 1st so we should be having a cake.
Well I could try talking the Minibosses into join me from AZ for 09 at PAX this year. Then we can find out if Amtrak likes the idea of live concerts on the train.
Nope none at all.

So looks like I'll be getting a ride to LA and going from there. Unless there's an Amtrak hub near Pomona that connects to LA that I don't know about.
EDIT: Looks like I'll have everything wrapped up on Friday.
Current word from Amtrak is: Nothing. I'm back in touch with Dolores, the group manager, though, and she's sending me some stuff I was apparently supposed to get already. However, last we heard is this:
- We're getting our own car
- Kiddie car available to us exclusively
Dunno about appliances. That's a weird question and I don't know if that counts as muscling in on the train staff's turf. I know we are allowed to bring food and beverages but beyond that I don't know. I'll ask
I really want to finish this Amtrak shit so I can get us group rates ASAP.
One of the reasons I'll be going to PAX is for the rumored Rock Band tourney of which I was recruited in. I was planning on going and someone pointed me here, so yeah, this is gonna be kickass awesome.
Shady, its during the Labor Day weekend. What school has class during that time?
Friday is a school day, smarty pants. I guess I'll have to get back to LA early.
Yeah, as I mentioned on the last page. Just the HD won't work since we aren't guaranteed to have internet up the whole way and without the original Xbox the downloads are tied to, it needs to be online to work.
So who is bringing the 360 anyways? Perhaps we could organize a fund to get them all the DLC... If we all chipped in 5 bucks or so we could probably afford everything.
Yes, it only works if its online. Tried playing songs I've downloaded on my friends 360, worked fine until the internet cut out and they magically disappeared from the setlist until we reset his router and modem and got it connected again.
