Edit: Didn't notice the text saying there's a staff variation, since I'm working door security with Highfire I'm in for that version. And actually, I'm changing my order to two, since I'll need one for the ride back.
We'll be printing them pretty soon (within a month or so). That's the one me and Augustus came up with. I've also got a black variant for staff. So yeah, as soon as we're ready I'll get orders to see who wants one. They'll be like $3 or something, to cover the cost of the shirt itself.
I'm also not sure if we've gotten Khoo's approval yet or not. So, pending that... :P
Augustus hasnt put me down as staff yet on the main post (you can confirm with him but I will be the communications officer of sorts, yay internets and networky stuffs) but mark me down for 2 large staff shirts.
On a sadder note kick my friends group thing down to 2-3. Shit went down amongst some of them and I dont know whose coming. Myself and the other friend who has replied on this thread are most likely still coming.
Edit: Also has anyone considered that maybe we could give Tycho and Gabe this shirt as a gift from the WCTT during one of their Q&A sessions?
I want shirt too, Medium, Will gladly pay more than $3 for it. Take pay pal?
I'm the friend Lindy is referring to, and yes I'm coming, I got my reservation for a train ticket, bought my passes for PAX, and got the time off for work, so I'm in for sure. As for our other friends, there was a break-up between 2 of the members, and now the group is split so who knows what things will be like in 3 months.
Giving one to Tycho and Gabe sounds like a super fantastic Idea! I would be willing to pay for that too.

Amtrak Tickets : Check
Hotel: (waiting for news from a fellow forumer)
Taking up the advice offered, I'll be taking Metrolink from Pomona (North) to the LA Union Station before the trip. So now I can concentrate on what to pack and the easier stuff. It feels good not to have to worry about all of that stuff anymore.
Finally booked my ticket. I don't think I've doubled checked something so much. Got so paranoid I was booking the wrong day or something. Now all I need is the plane ticket and I'm all set. Woo!

Alas! The fascists have ensured a delaying action for our comrades in Portland, and they cannot access the main transit line. Our allies in the 10th Portland Guards will have to make it north on a special train. Glory to our comrades in arms, though they fight not alongside us. You are not forgotten! We will take advantage of this, and use the 10th Portland Guards to flank Seattle itself!
In other words, the train out of portland isn't the same as the train out of LA. There are other PAXers on that train, but it's not the huge, dedicated car, nonstop insanity that the main train is.
Hey everyone, I've been in the process of finding a new job after my last one exploded. Internet connection WAS down at home due to local construction and now it's back. It's complicated and I'll spare you the LJ post. Gonna update the headcount. PS, no word from Amtrak yet. They're being punk bitches so for now just order, you can cancel later. Anger.
Don't worry about all the hassle of getting high-res images for Tshirt presses.
Just get a tattoo, its much more economical.
Plus most tattoo artists can copy just about any picture you bring them.
Ill be getting the WCTT logo on my forearm so Ill be easy to spot during the trip.
You do this and I'll order Tribble to beat your ass on general principle
I'm serious it will end in the words "no ticket"
Added Turtles for Penguins. Removed Lindy's ex-crew. And with luck (but I'm not adding it yet) I may bring some more friends.

I think us WCTTers are going to meet up the night before the trip for some reveling.
I'm up for anything, but I'm not going to put the time into organizing it. :P
I can't do anything for a couple of weeks though, finals coming up.
Taken from another thread that got quashed. I also perused this thread and couldn't find any further mention of a meeting. I noticed a couple of you guys were thinking about getting together before the trip, and that specifically there are a large number of people here in LA who are going to ride the train. If there's interest in a Pre-PAX Los Angeles meet and greet, I think we should do it! Meeting new people for the first time is fun and exciting on a train, but imagine hopping on that train with people you've already a passing familiarity with!
Also, some people are driving and some people (like me) are taking the plane. I'd like to get to know some awesome people here in LA who are also going to PAX, but riding the train just isn't an option. A meet and greet would be a great way for people who can't take the train to network with other PAX-goers. If anyone in the LA area is interested just let me know, and I'll be happy to set something up. PM me and let me know

In all likelihood, this is my fault. If the current situation is not my fault, please let me know as soon as possible so that I may rectify this oversight. Thank you.

I've already planned it so that I don't spend more than an hour at Union Station to meet with the rest of the commies. Unless the meeting it taking place away from Union Station, I don't think I'll be coming with.

Ah, well it was just a thought...it is rather a pain to get around in LA in any case. Carry on my train-riding friends!

So has anyone taken command of the activities for the Portland Brigade yet? I'm just curious as of right now...
Technically, I am supposed to be- but there have been some complications on my end. A lady has walked into my life. Another friend wants to go early and see seattle as well as my lady. I might have to resign as the supertrain trip leader and let someone else organize it. It should be really easy to do. The train was awesome last year.

That shouldn't stop us from trying to fill a single car with pax people though.

What exactly is involved in organizing it? I'm hesitant to ask.
nothing major. They want someone to head up and make a good place to meet up at. Its really optional but going as a group might help in that we might be able to get deals on cab fares and what not. The biggest part is sitting with other people who are also headed to pax. That made it all worth it to me.
Greetings, folks. I'd like to participate in this train trip-- I've never done it before, and it sounds like a lot of fun. I also run a podcast, and am considering bringing my recording equipment on the train...
Anyway, do you guys mind if I mention the West Coast Train Trip on the next episode of my show?

whoa whoa whoa man . . . we can't just go telling every one about this. it's a very exclusive club . . . . . . NOT! :P Yes, please do mention the PAXTrain. We can never have enough people. Wouldn't it be glorious if PAXgoers overran the entire train?
Duly noted, friends. It will be mentioned on this week's show, in some fashion.
I've secured my reservation and will be boarding the Phantom Train in Los Angeles. With luck, the WCTT crew will have speakers at the station, blasting this song into the heavens.
So this train is non-stop from there? I'm up in Vancouver and I didn't want to drive up there.. I know I know it's only 2 hours, but it's a non-stop train?
Im pretty sure we made a few stops well in washington. No one from the train trip got on past the first 2 stops in oregon though. Losers. All of them missed out.

Non-stop? Bwah haha!
It's not called the Coast StarLate for nothing. UP owns the tracks, and they don't like giving right of way to Amtrak out here. But I'd rather spend over a day playing and able to move than a few hours involving the gauntlet that is airline travel these days.
I gave an overview of the West Coast Train Trip on the latest episode of my show; please check it out when you get a chance. I'm hoping to bring some of the organizers onto the show in the future to discuss the event in more detail.
