Ohi, I'm kinda at a lost where to look for this type of... genre? I'm kinda musically retarded when it comes to knowing what sounds like what or where to look. But, basically the sound track from Silent Hill 4. I know it was pretty much all composed from Akira Yamaoka (right?...), but the tracks I really like and would love to find more with the same feeling is Tender Sugar, Your Rain, and Room of Angel.
Now, all these songs have a guest singer named Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Obviously, I like her voice and everything, but when I searched to see if she actually had any sort of music gig lined up, it looks like she just does video game soundtracks.
Does anyone know of a group or whatever that sounds like those three songs? I'm way more partial to a female vocalist for this type of genre.
It's hard to define the genre beyond rock/alt-rock/metal/nu-metal. or something equally broad. Maybe Within Temptation, Garbage, A Perfect Circle or Damien Rice is to your liking?
Otherwise: I'm sure last.fm has some suggestions if you give them the singer's name?
Haha, good call with linking the songs. Didn't even think of that
I used to listen to Garbage way back, I even thought the two sounded a bit similar. Think I'll check them out again. Already listen to A Perfect Circle here and there. Within Temptation is alright, kinda sounds like they're trying to be like... I dunno, epic sounding way too much. That even make sense?
Just listened to Damien Rice, really digging him.
I'll try digging around last.fm. I see a few posts from users, hopefully somebody has already went through the trouble of finding stuff similar.
