Move over Spider-Man 3, Iron-Man looks to be the worse Marvel game now.
So the problems in my opinion?
-Camera that looks like it can't keep up with the action.
-Gameplay that looks to be consist of just locking on to things and jaming on the fire button.
-Iron-man seems to have the running speed of Flash.
I was actually looking forward to this game too. Too bad.

What exactly would you suggest that they do for gameplay instead of this? I'm not really an iron man comic person but as far as I'm concerned, that's what iron man does, he flies around and shoots shit.
The camera does need work, but I don't think it looks that bad - it just needs to be tightened up with its tracking. As for the gameplay, though, I get the feeling it's more that the demo guy just sucks since IIRC the video they showed last year/earlier this year showed a bit more depth and variability than spamming a basic attack (which reminds me, it looks like they've worked on flight so you're not moving with all the grace of a Fokker biplane).
They still haven't fixed the ridiculous weight/throwing issues, though, which perterbs me.
The flying parts look fine to me but when Iron Man gets on the ground, that's where things go to mediocre hell. Wasn't the Superman Returns videogame the same way?
It does look pretty inconsistent; it actually looks a lot like it did when it was first revealed, which is very disappointing. The flying still seems cool, but the on-ground stuff is underwhelming. I don't think it looks bad, but it does look mediocre and unwieldy. Par for the course, I suppose. The developers don't really have a solid pedigree.
Edit: They're working on the new Golden Axe too. Oh dear.
Edit second: Dear god the music is awful

All creature will die and all the things will be broken. That's the law of samurai.
At the very least, it should have been something closer to a (good) Armored Core style game. The whole reason Iron Man is cool is because he's a self-made superhero. You should have to create your own armor, juggle research with contract work, figure out how to take down bad guys with proper application of your technology.
Seriously, of all the superheroes who deserve more than the "X to short range attack, Y to long range attack" treatment, only Batman is higher on the list than Iron Man.

QFT. Considering how many different armors there have been, this would be a great concept in the game. Maybe for a IM2 game, after they show some more suit in an IM2 movie.

Blegh, that doesn't look fun at all. Why does everybody feel that it's necessary to take my love of Ironman and jerk me around? And use me. Make me sad.

I don't think it looks god awful, but I seriously doubt it's going to be as good as I was hoping it could be. The camera needs some more work, but the gameplay looks like the Iron Man version of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.
Yeah that game where you fly around in a metal suit firing lasers at shit and tearing helicopters in half looks lame.

Well you have to admit that sandbox games are boring to watch because it is repetitive.
This gameplay trailer does look boring, but there is a potential of being totally fucking cool. It just needs 90 more moves and more explosions and epic fights!
So I did one of my rare sojourns onto Live to get a few updates for BC stuff and noticed that there's a demo out for Gold members. Anyone have a crack at it yet? Everything I've read's been the same generic "the flight system is overall fun" and "you really feel like Iron Man what with all the lasers and missiles" shit, and I'm curious to see if this has a hope of being decent.
Did hear a few specifics, though:
Combat apparently is limited in its variety: you're apparently limited to repulsor beams, Unibeam, and a special, though said special can apparently be swapped out between levels and have several different forms.
Controls have a bit of a learning curve with each movement mode (ground/flight/hovor) changing it up a bit, sometimes unintuitively. Lockon also sounds like it's a pain in the ass in default (same trigger as the repulsors but only a half-pull) though you can supposedly "customize" them (which hopefully means more than A/B/C/Invert)
Suit upgrade system (which I suppose shouldn't be a surprising given the trend of Marval games)
I hate the flight controls so so much. Even inverted, they just don't ever feel right. Gameplay in the demo was generic "fly here and blow this up" repeated about 9 times.
The menus are fucking sleek, though. I guess that counts for something.
I didn't. I blew up about 4 or 5 of...whatever it was I was blowing up, and just quit because I felt like I was controlling a flying sausage or something.
There should be a warning at the start of this demo to take dramamine before playing it. The camera is too jumpy. The hover controls take some getting used to. It's difficult to keep cool enough under fire to not want to jam down the left trigger. It definitely seems like the gameplay will get repetitive quick, but taken in short bursts I think it could be a great way to waste half an hour or so. Overall, I enjoyed enjoyed the demo. The game is definitely not worth the $60 it will cost at release, but I think it'll make a great bargain bin game. I'll definitely be picking it up once it drops in price.
Its not bad but the demo did feel mediocre. There were some cool moments for me, like dropping out of the air directly ontop of a tank who's turret I then ripped off. Also grabbing the missile racks and forcing the turret to spin so I could fire at other stuff. Ripping a helicopter in half was good fun as well, though just mashing B to do it was a bit lame.
Flying around was fun and I could see the full version having some decent variety, what with the upgrade menu I was shown and the X button deploying counter measures...which didn't seem to be active in the demo. This won't beat out The Punisher or IHulk:UD but I enjoyed the demo more than I enjoyed SM3.
What the hell is wrong with you people that dont like this.
I caught a missle, fucking chucked it back at a helicopter, and did so much awesome shit. I went up to some guy with a gun, charged up a superlaser, and fucking obliterated him. Explosions everywhere, lasers and guns and missiles.

EDIT: I mean, there have been some fucking awful marvel games.
It could be so awesome with the VO engine.
As evidenced quite nicely....in this thread.
Seriously. Spidey 3, though rather average much of the time, was far from the worst Marvel game I've laid hands to.
Also, not sure how else they'd handle a dude in a flying power suit. He's like Superman with guns. Trailer looks fine to me.
Everything else was awful.

On the video: Looks okay. I'm an Iron Man whore, so I'll end up getting it. But yeah, the ground fighting looked terrible.

Yeah, seriously. What's up with that?
That is how you know it is next-gen. Either that or he recently was in the middle of a bukkake.
I hope you know I hate you now.

You forgot about catching missiles.
And ripping the turrets from tanks.
And throwing anti aircraft guns a mile away.
And using rocket artillery as a rocketlauncher.
I agree, they should've just gotten the Hulk:UD team on this.
