How long do I need to keep hauling around Pokes with HM moves? I'm finding that:
95% of all battles are fought by Torterra (Grass/Ground moves), Luxray (Elec/Dark), or Infernape (Fire/Fight).
The other 5% is the occasional Machop/Meditite where I pull out Staraptor (Flying).
So, Staraptor is used rarely in battles, but can use Fly and Defog, Gyarados is just there for Surf, and Bibarel sits in the corner slaving Rock Smash, Rock Climb, Cut, and Strength.
Half my team is used just to get around the game world. :P

You pretty much always want to have Fly and Surf available. Waterfall and Rock Climb will see occasional use, and the others are only needed for a few specific dungeons.
Rock Climb and Fly are the two I'd want to have everywhere.
Of course for the endgame you're going to want as many as possible, because that's just the way it is.
It seems to me that every time I take my Surfer out of my party I end up needing Surf immediately. Besides, it's a good offensive move for special attacking water types so it's not too inconvenient to carry.
Well the game has basically one water route, so its not essential for the last few badges as it is in R,B,Y,G,S,C,R,S,E.
Of course Surf is a good special attack move. If you started with Piplup for example you'd be a fool not to use it. But for getting hidden items and general mobility you really can't go wrong with Rock Climb and Fly.
I dunno. I use Surf all the time; every puddle in this game seems to have an item waiting on the other side of it.
I guess I'm just bemoaning how ridiculous HMs are, since you could potentially field a much better team, if not wasting slots on pokes with battle-useless moves.
So about two hours of eggs that either were not the right nature, or did not have the right ability.
Then five of them in a row.
Had that Sunday with Snorlax eggs. I had spent a lot of time trying to get eggs and only one was right, then sitting in my friend's living room I got 6 in a row, and fast.
Damn, I am sick for two days and 8 pages get added. Well, I am feeling well enough to sit up and turn on my pokeymans. And no one has claimed the Cresselia from me yet. Does anyone want to challenge
Be sure to include something with Close Combat, Megahorn and/or Avalanche, stein, because Green Man is goddamn annoying... and has some pretty annoying typing too. Bleh. Only thing that stopped me last time.
OSD, I want a rematch with Team Awesome. Just lemme do something to something really quick so I can something your something.

It does get rather aggravating, wasting slots just to move around the map, and it's especially annoying when I get someone and realize I forgot a needed HM slave, having to fly back to a town, grab it, and drag it back just to cut down one crummy bush.
...While I'm talking about complaints.....why do some things have to take so long for no good reason? Accidently hit the "Y" button and try to activate your bicycle indoors? Enjoy your two-paragraph text box telling you that you can't do that. A simple noise would suffice. Also having a ton of items with no fast way to scroll through them.
Also, merchants that don't let you buy multiple items at one time (honey guy, mulch lady). And picking berries (You see a berry! Would you like to pick the berry? You pick the berry! You put the berry in your bag! The soil returned to its soft and earthy state! ugh)

Meteor Mash would also work.
I did have Megahorn last time we fought, but I don't believe I took him out with it. And I managed to bring Green Man down. At least I think I did.
No, you see, they need that to remind you that it's raining, because the DS can't handle adding an extra sprite layer for a rain effect during the battle, because it's way too intensive on the hardware.
Yeahhh, I didn't have quite enough monies, so I'm having to beat up the rich kids by the pokemansion a few times. Almost done now though- sorry this is taking so long.

Curses, I misjudged how much Mirror Coat would do.
Well, that's game then. Fucking Green Man, I can't ever land a hit on him before the end when ManBearPig is dead from enemy team members suiciding at him.
Good game.
You won because I have only two team members that can deal with Green Man easily, and one of them died stupidly in the beginning. Should have switched to Lanturn so my team member that is effectively useless in this matchup ate the explosion.

I now have what I feel is an uber IV'd Snorlax
Yeah, it took me aaaaages to get the last one, now I'm checking IVs. You still want that Exeggcute and Tangela, Stein? They're in my box. Waiting. For your love.
Well, my only problem is Green Man, who continues to poison/wall whatever I have left at the end. Sure, I have counters now, and so will you, but OSD is very careful with that little bugger. No way is he going to let it get trapped by Mean Look.
I would suggest that like 4/6 of your Pokemon have some move capable of killing Green Man. Course, I could just be saying that because it's stopped me winning twice now and I want to see it faint as often as possible. Set is annoying, but at least it gets like one-shotted by any supereffective special attack. (ManBearPig is Adamant, so 63 base Sp.Atk and it still takes it down 80% or so with Blizzard)
Basically: Don't use your Rain Dance team exactly, but use elements. Namely the elements that can handle both Set and Osiris and can fuck up Green Man's defenses with Rain Dance. Also, said elements should probably use immune to sandstorm so they can stay in for awhile. I think you know the element I'm talking about.

I'd been thinking about breaking up the Sandstorms with Rain Dance, but all he'd do is switch in Set or Osiris, and get a freebie change, whatwhat.
Not yet. Also, I assumed it could learn False Swipe via TM when it evolved into Breloom, but it can't. Egg move only. But all I need do is teach False Swipe to a male Grovyle and breed with a female Shroomish/Breloom. I'll do that... another time. Not now. Burned out on breeding for a LONG TIME.
Like I said, use your guy that can handle BOTH set and osiris. I know you have one because I've seen it many times. You could redo it as a Mix....thing to make it more effective.
Bloody hell, TAUNT. Taunt! Why didn't I think of that before?
I've got like... four guys that can laugh at Set and Osiris all day, and three that can take them down in one shot. It's getting them to STAY in so that they go down in one shot.
Yeah, but like I said, if he can't go to Set or Osiris then he can't immediately counteract your Rain Dance.
Meh, I dunno but it seems like it might work.
(You;d better lose, RMD. I have YET ANOTHER new Poke in training, and with THIS one, I think I can probably maybe finally break through Green Man and win! Maybe.)
Team Awesome? More like Team Jerk-Face Stupid-Head.
YEAH I WENT THERE.
Time for more team editing now. Basically at this point I'm adding more and more Cradily counters. I imagine when the amount is around 5/6 team members I'll be able to take it down.

It's only good offensively against Ghost in R/B/Y because the only ghosts just happen to be part poison.

TEAM AWESOME
Right now, you'd do better to fight 20 of me in the singles battle tower.
I am still open to more challenges against
TEAM AWESOME
however.

Edit: Though, maybe not. Good game Dingus, I don't know how I managed to turn that one around. I thought I was boned at the start there.

Breloom! But I'm told the one I'm breeding -from- is probably better than all the others I've bred.
Dingus! You've met quite a few of my POKEMANS. Any that you think I should definitely take against OSD's Elite-4 TEAM AWESOME?

BACK AWAY FROM THE ARENA.
THE BIG BOYS ARE GOING TO RUMBLE.

(And yes, Taunt'd go a long way to saving stuff.)
